Sunday 01/03/2026 – 12-3-30 Day 11
Weight = 106.5 kgs
Steps = 5585 Steps
This morning I woke up without an alarm at 5:15 and when i got up my back was really sore and my hernia was also burning so I decided to chill in bed instead of getting up and doing my 12-3-30 (As per last weeks summary I am dropping the speed to 3 mph for the rest of the 30 days to see if that increases fat burning or not!) So I stayed in bed watching YouTube until 10:30 when I got up, did my weigh-in and i was down to 106.5 kgs from 107.2 kgs on my last weigh-in on Friday so not bad 🙂
I am currently doing my 12-3-30 while I write this and go back and update last weeks blogs as I didn’t update them much this week! Once my walk is done i need to clear some space in the wood shed as we are getting a wood delivery at 13:30 today so I want to make it as easy as possible when the wood is delivered.
I am going to take it a bit easier today as I am broken from all the manual labour yesterday and need to chill today! I was planning on riding to Bath this afternoon so that I don’t have to ride in tomorrow morning, but I think that I might be better resting today instead so that I am fresh for tomorrow.
Stacking the logs took all the energy that I had left over and full killed my back so I chilled the rest of the day. By the end of the day I was on 5585 Steps so not great but it could have been a lot worse!
Monday 02/03/2026 – 12-3-30 Day 12
Weight = 106.7 kgs
Steps = 6961 Steps
I woke up this morning at 5:00 with my alarm and got up and did my weigh-in and I am up 0.2 kgs this morning to 106.7 kgs and I am hurting a lot still! I am not 1/2 way through my 12-3-30 challenge for the day and then i have to head into Bath the go into the office. Unfortunately my laptop is currently dead so I can’t get my morning work tasks done this morning as I have no access to the network on my own laptop 🙁
I should get to Bath about 6:30 then I need to jump in the shower and then head into the office for 7 am then I can crack on with my morning tasks as planned. I am on call tonight too so in between finishing work at 15:30 and starting on call at 16:45 I will need to ride to the flat and then drive to my parents to start work at 16:45 if I make it in time!
Yesterday I was looking at more effective ways to boot fat burning and one of the best ways is backwards walking so once my 30 day challenge is done I will add backwards walking into my routine and do a 30 day 30 minute backwards walking session into my routine 3 x a week to start with then add more if I feel like it. This way I will be sorting my back on the forwards walking and my knees doing the backwards walking as well 🙂
This morning when I went to get on my bike my back went out so I have been in pain all day! I worked in the office until 15:30 when I had a really painful ride back to the flat and I remembered that I hadn’t eaten anything all day! By the time I got food I had fasted for 22 hours so not bad at all! After eating I went back to work again but from bed to try and ease the pain in my back! At around 19:30 I headed back to my parents house and had a really uncomfortable drive because of the back 🙁
I then worked until 22:00 when I finally got to lie down and sooth my back!
By the end of the day I was on 6961 Steps which considering how bad my back is its a lot of steps!
Tuesday 03/03/2026 – 12-3-30 Day 13
Weight = 106.9 Kgs
Steps = 7911 Steps
I slept pretty well despite massive pain when I rolled over and woke up at 6:30 and did my morning work tasks and then did my weigh-in and was up a bit more to 106.9 kgs this morning. I decided that I was going to save my 12-3-30 for later in the day once I have had time for the pain killers to kick in a bit 🙁 By back is less bad than yesterday as long as I don’t move that is! Definitely no shed building for me today!
So it turns out that I had to help with the shed build and I discovered that all of my family are ADHD as they kept walking off and doing other things instead of building the shed! By 18:00 we had the shed pretty much built with the roof on and just the door, floor, roofing felt and surrounds to go which we decided to leave for tomorrow as it was starting to get cold and dark and I was totally broken!
My son then headed back to his mum’s and I chilled until 20:00 when I did my 12-3-30 which hurt a lot and in hindsight was probably a bad idea! Ithen went for a long shower to ease the pain in my back and then slathered my back in deep heat and was in bed by 21:00.
By the end of the day I was on 7911 Steps which is not bad considering I can hardly walk!
Tuesday 04/03/2026 – 12-3-30 Day 14 (PAUSE due to injury!)
Weight = 106.6 Kgs
Steps = Steps
So I slept really badly because of the pain in my back so I have decided to take a break in the 12-3-30 until my back is better! I woke up at 6:30 and did some work things and then I did my weigh-in and I am down to 106.6 kgs again this morning which is good news! I am now working but in a lot of pain so my son is going to have to do the rest of the shed build on his own I think 🙁
