So this morning I managed to turn off my alarm without knowing it and woke up at 6 am felt really bad so set my alarm to 7 am woke up felt terrible so called in sick from work and went back to sleep! I woke up about 9 am and did my weigh in (down 0.2 kgs to 103.2 kgs) then chilled in bed for a bit and then at 9:40 I got a knock on the door and it was the S&M being delivered.
The bike is super light and came 3/4 built so I just have to tighten the headset and then add the wheels, cranks and chain and its done! It will have to wait until I’m feeling better though as I’m struggling to sit up to write this! I have decided against using the profile sprocket and freestyle cranks and I will instead go with a 42 x 15 gearing and use the Amazon cranks off of the DK for now until I get my forward 175mm cranks back then I will stick those on instead. I am doing this as I already have a brand new bottom bracket for the Amazon cranks so it saves £40+ on a bottom bracket as I have been spending a lot of money so not spending more makes sense.
So I won a new chrome Profile Mini front hub so I bought a new driver and sprag and paw kit for the red rear profile mini rear hub it will basically be brand new again. Once the rims arrive I will get the wheels built up and on the S&M and then it will be all done.
So in stages yesterday as I was sick I got the S&M built up as far as I could until the 12t cog arrives and the black cable outer and new brake lever and caliper arrive over the next few days then it will be ready to ride.
I was super lucky to find the 2 brand new S&M Speedball 20 x 2.10 tyres in the garage as they go really well with the rest of the bike.
This evening I bought a basically new chrome profile mini front hub and a new driver and sprag and paw kit for the red profile mini that I had in the parts bin that didn’t get used in an earlier build and I also bought a new set of 20 x 1.75 Sun Envy rims which are getting stupidly expensive now and have doubled in price in the last year 🙁 Once the profile mini wheels are built up and on the bike it will be 100% done and can just be enjoyed!
I have also just bought a StoreYourBoard Freestanding Bike Storage Rack from Amazon as it was on offer so it was down from £270 to £230 so I figured that it was worth a punt and if it works as it looks like it will it will mean that I can hang 5 bikes in a 45″ space which will sort out my in flat bike storage issues. I am planning on using the rack in my lounge and storing the Standard R125 24″, Standard R125 OS20 when its built up, My Black Market 24″ DJ bike, My DMR Dirt jumper and the S&M in the space that is currently taken up by just the Black Market hanging on the wall! I am also going to take the arm chair from my bedroom and stick it in my parents garage when I go over there on Sunday ans I will grab my DH bike and mtb that I use as a road bike and bring them home then I will get my other 2 bike vertical bike stand and put the DH bike and the Cult on the wall in my bedroom. I will also have to bring the walking treadmill into the bedroom as the StoreYourBoard bike rack and the 5 bikes it will hold will be taking up the space that it is currently in.
This afternoon the Profile Elite disk hub arrived for the OS20 build so when I see my friend next I will get him to build the wheels up and the disk brake calipers also arrived so once the chains arrive I will have everything to build the OS20 up.
Tomorrow I need to take the cranks off of the DK and stick them on the Cult until I get my forward 175mm cranks back off of my friend to go on the Cult then that is all ready to ride too.
My fitbit was on charge all day today so my step count is really low but I didn’t really walk a lot or do my backwards walking as I wanted to rest up and try and get over whatever I have!
