I had a lie in this morning until 6 then got up and did my upper body routine of bench press with 20kg, shoulder sequence with 2kg dumbbells and arm curls with 3kg dumbbells. The 3 kg dumbbells are too light for curls but I left my adjustable dumbbells in the boot of my car and left my car at my parents as I had to take their car into the garage for a service on Tuesday. I will pick my car up over the weekend so I will then have heavier dumbbells to use next week.

I have decided that I am going to do upper body on Monday and Thursdays and Lower body Tuesday and Fridays starting next week and then do a bike ride on Wednesdays and start walking before weight training from next week too as I am starting to feel better now so I think I can start working out again!

My shoulder is feeling much better but it was stiff through a lot of the bench press movement for the first couple of sets this morning so it definitely needs a lot more work! Encouragingly the side curls or barrel curls whatever they are called did not hurt at all this morning, I could feel my shoulder but it was not painful and was way better then it felt on Monday! I’m not sure if that is because I was using 2kg dumbbells instead of 3kg dumbbells this morning or if my shoulder is just getting stronger! I am feeling muscles that I haven’t used for a long time after the workouts so I am sure that the weight training is doing me some good so when I get paid I want to invest in some more equipment to make my workouts safer as the current equipment is not very safe.

I sold some shares and I will buy a better weight bench with leg curl/extension attachments to help rehab my knees and also an Olympic bar and weights set as well with 100kgs of weight so that I don’t have to buy any more weights for a long time and I am toying with the idea of buying a dip station so that I can work my abs doing leg raises, do dips and also work up to pull ups when my shoulder is stronger and my bodyweight has dropped a bit!  Once I have all this I have a fully functioning gym to be able to progress for at least the next year I would think before I need to buy more weights again. Especially as I am going to use my 20kg weight vest for leg training before I start using weights anyway as I want to protect my ribs a bit before moving to weights as last time I did squats I popped my broken ribs in my back after about 7 reps and had to stop working out again before I had really started 🙁

Last night I ordered a new KMC chain from Wiggle for my DMR Sect that I built up yesterday as the one off of my  Airdrop Fade was too short my about 5-10 links so the safest thing to do was buy a new one. It was the last chain they had in stock so that was lucky and for the £20 cost I think that it was worth it compared to trying to extend the old one and risk snapping the chain and going otb again!

Once the chain arrives I will get the it fitted to the bike, fit the brake and then tighten everything with the torque wrench to make sure everything is tight before I take it for a test ride! I am super excited to ride the DMR to see if it feels as BMX like as it looks or not. The front end definitely looks lower and it looks to have a lower standover hight as well so it should feel less foreign than the Airdrop Fade does and it is over 1/2 an inch shorted too so should feel smaller too. I love the way the bike looks and the 2.1″ DTH’s look way smaller than the 2.3’s which I am happy about too.
