Weight-In

weigh-in

I woke up this morning and did my weekly weigh in and I am down to 107.7 kgs from 108.3kgs this time last week so a loss of 0.6 kgs which is not bad.

At the weekend I started upping my walking again and my stomach has been a little sort but not too bad so I have been walking as much as possible:

Saturday  = 14035 Steps

Sunday = 16593 Steps

Monday  =12982 Steps

Yesterday was the first day this week that I didn’t make the 10000 Steps as I had to go into the office urgently so I had to ride the bike instead of walk and I was busy until 10pm trying to resolve an overheating server room so didn’t have time to walk as I had planned to. I still managed to walk 6153 steps so still a lot more than a usual day where I would walk 3000-4000 steps.

I have decided that I am going to try and do at least 8000 steps a day and I want to get back into the habit of getting up early again and walking before work to make it easier to reach my goal. Apart from losing weight the walking was also helping to control my back issues which have been getting steadily worse since I stopped walking as well as making me more focussed and productive in the mornings. I have noticed that for the past month or so I have been getting less and less focussed and sleeping later and later so when I start work I am still half asleep and so way less focussed and way less productive! So starting to walk again will hopefully get me back to normal while I can’t ride!

As the season is basically finished for me apart from the Birmingham National in August, I will add BMX back into my daily routine ON TOP OF the walking instead of replacing walking as I did before. Once the last race is over I am going to hang up the BMX for the winter and ride the Jump Bike instead to work on my track skills without trying to go fast which is hurting my stomach. I plan to got to the track either in my lunch hour or after work for an hour or so a day and just play in the track and try and progress my manuals and jumping so that when I start training for BMX again I will have a much higher skill and fitness base to start from. Obviously if I need an operation this will change but that is the plan!

Over the winter I will start to do sprints again a couple times as week and I will maybe fit some gym in as well but my main goals for the rest of the year are:

  • Walk 10000 Steps a day everyday to build a consistent routine
  • Ride the Jump Bike Every Day and build up track skills

At the moment there is no point adding specific fitness goals as I don’t know what is going to happen with my stomach issues so at least by implementing these goals I will be improving my bike handling skills and building a base fitness as well.
