Weigh-in

So for the past couple of weeks I have been pretty inconsistent with my walking and reaching my 10000 Step goal all the time so I wasn’t expecting much although my body composition seems to be improving so I wasn’t expecting to be so heavy this morning! When I weighed myself I was up to 107.1kgs!!! This means that I have put on almost another kg (0.9kgs) since 18/05/2021!! And in just over a month I have put on almost 2.5kgs which is far from ideal!

Although I haven’t been exercising regularly I put this more down to me lapsing with the fizzie drinks over the last couple of weeks and getting to the point that I was drinking 1.5l of Dr Pepper a day again while on night shift!! While I have managed to not drink Coca Cola still and keep to my goal of not drinking it at all this year, I have been slipping back into the habit of drinking other soft drinks instead which although easier to stop, are still really bad for you as my current weigh in shows!

I have now cut out all soft drinks again and I plan to walk every day again this week to try and get the weight back down for the weekend where I have to try and race the first 2 rounds of the UK national series at Cyclopark in Kent.  I am also going to try and get a road ride in during my lunch break as well to maximize weight loss.

Strangely when I rode the road bike on Friday I felt really strong and fitter that I have for a long time so I am hoping that a lot of the extra weight is muscle as I have noticed that my legs are bigger and also my shoulders are getting bigger again which I guess is a result of getting on the BMX more again of the past Month! My Chest is also getting more defined and my ribs are starting to show through a bit too which are also good signs that the weight gain is more muscle gain than fat gain which is promising!

On a positive note the weird knee pain that I had yesterday in my right knee has gone so I should be OK to ride the BMX while I am at the track later today which is a good sign 🙂
