Weight Finally Dropping

So this morning I woke up at 5:30 without an alarm and did my weigh-in and I was surprised to see that I was down to 107.9 kgs which was pretty good seeing that I ate a lot of crap yesterday when I got home from the office! It does however show that waking outside is better for weight loss than walking on the treadmill so I will definitely have to prioritise walking outdoors first thing next year so I think my primary goal will be effective in the long run and it will be a really good habit to get into and it should also mean that I waste less time on the phone next year too as I am already up and active from 5 am every day so once I am up I will be less likely to stay in bed all day like I do when I don’t walk straight away! Walking first thing will also mean that I am going to have done about 9000 steps before 6:30 am so I only have about 3000 steps to complete for the rest of the day which should be pretty simple to do and it will mean that I can banish the treadmill to the hall cupboard to get it out of the way and free up space by my desk!

After my weigh-in I wrote my weight on the board in green as I lost weight and it made me happy for a second to have achieved something with all the walking this month 🙂 I also filled in my fridge calendar so that it is up to date now:

I like the Fridge planner as I see it all the time during the day so it keeps me motivated to keep walking and it is also really easy to see that I am on a streak of 15 days walking 12000 or more steps a day from 09/12/2024 until today 🙂 Its falling short of my 30 day goal but its still pretty good and I am going to try and keep it until the new year if I can but I am not too bothered as I am going to start the challenge for real on 01/01/2024. That being said I was 106.9 kgs on 01/01/2024 so I am still 1 kg heavier for the year 🙁 Because of this I have now changed my weight to red on the board as I haven’t actually lost any weight!

As a rough measure of my weight loss since the 9th December until today I have lost a respectable 1.5 kgs so my weight dropped from 109.4 kgs on the 9th to 107.9 kgs today which is pretty good seeing all I changed was consistently walking 12000 steps a day every day!

Last week I averaged 12295 steps a day which is pretty good.

Having see this I am now sure that my goal of rucking first thing every morning is the best thing that I can do to get me to a healthy weight while mainly burning just fat and I think that it is the best habit that I can work on doing again to get me in shape. Combined with the 10 minutes of backwards treadmill that has proven to sort my knees out really quickly I think that I can get to a healthy weight by the end of the year with a little bit of effort but not massive changes to my way of life.

Combining the morning Ruck with riding to and from the office and working in the office in the mornings and lunchtimes at the track I think that by the end of the year I can get to my goal weight of 85 kgs easily. Dropping the weight will mean that I can then start to play basketball again so I will lose even more weight then 🙂

Between xmas and new year I am going to make the most of my free time and clean out my shed and garage so that I can start to organise my life and de-clutter and get rid of as much unwanted stuff as possible. Once the shed and garage are organised I can then put all bikes apart from my Curtis and Standard OS20 in the garage and hopefully setup my gym in the garage as well so that I can start working out in the evenings in the garage and keep the flat bike and exercise equipment free zone!

Once the garage is sorted I can then start to de-clutter the flat and try and make the flat a less stressful environment to live in! At the moment everywhere I turn there is bikes and clutter which is super annoying and stressful to say the least!
