I woke up yesterday (Wednesday) and did my usual weight in and I was surprised to see that I have dropped a little bit of weight and I am back down to 108.6kgs from 109.8kgs last week (-1.2kgs) ๐ย I am still 0.7kgs heavier than I was at the start of the year so I am further away from my goal weight instead ofย closer to it so the year has basically been a right off!
This morning early I went to my physio appointment for my broken little finger and got some really good news ๐ After 3 months it looks like my finger has actually healed so I am able to take my splint off during the day at least ๐ I have to sleep with the splint on for the next 2 weeks or so but other than that Im healed and can start working on getting my movement back in the finger now ๐
I am leaving in a bit to go to my first shoulder physio to see what is going on with my shoulder and to try and get that working as well so๐ค๐ป I can start riding the bike again soon. Obviously not on the BMX track but I will take riding the road bike as at least then I can start to work on getting the weight off and building my base fitness for when I can ride the BMX track again! At least I can start building the shoulder up ready to ride again.
I have been thinking about how this year has gone as to say it has gone badly exercise wise is an understatement ๐ I have not been consistent with anything let alone exercising! I can make excuses about being injured but the injuries have not stopped me walking so I could at least have been doing that! I also kept changing my goals every 5 minutes and then not sticking to them anyway so I was just wasting time!
As its December already I have no chance of getting anywhere near my weight goals so I am going to use the month to start building the habit of exercising every day so that next month I can start seriously starting to work on getting my weight down and getting healthy! My new manager has told me that I have to stop working early in the mornings as the earliest that I can start is 7:30am so I have from 5-5:30 in the morning when I wake up until 7:30 am when I start work to exercise. My plan is to also do the same at the weekends too so wake up at 5am as normal then exercise then after the exercise is done I can do whatever I like.
I have decided that for December I am going to do the 10000 step challenge again then if I am given the OK to ride the bike again I will try and ride the bike for 1 hour at lunch time every day. For the bike riding I am going to keep it slow and steady to try and ride in zone 2 to build up my base fitness but I may well change that to working on getting up the hill to the BMX track so that by the time I can ride on the BMX track I will easily be able to ride up there on the ebike when my Swytch kit arrives ๐
My 10000 Steps for today is looking to be an easy goal as I have already completed 5158 steps walking to the hospital and back and my Physio appointment is well over 5000 Steps away so by the time that I get back from that I will be over the 10000 Steps ๐ I have just created a spreadsheet to keep track of my steps an I want to finish the year with a high so I am going to do my best to at a minimum get 10000 Steps a Day. The 10000 Steps Challenge will help me get into the habit of getting up and going out of the house as soon as I get up so that when I start my new fitness goal next year I will already be in the habit of getting straight up and leaving the house.
I also want to build my road bike base fitness so that I can start using Zwift again as I was so unfit that I struggled to do even 30 minutes of light riding on Zwift the last time I was on it!
More good news this morning. The physio said that I have definitely damaged my rotator cuff but I am all good to ride the road bike again which is amazing news. He has also given me a bunch of exercises to do for the next 6 weeks to try and get all of my mobility back.
I have just bought the resistance bands that I need for the main exercises which will be here tomorrow so I will be good to go Monday.
Steps wise I have just got home from the Physio and I am currently on 11824 steps so 10000 steps done and dusted for the day ๐
