Ill again and Weigh-in
I woke up on Friday morning feeling really bad so I called in sick and went back to sleep. I finally woke up at 15:30 and then had to work until almost midnight and then again on Saturday morning to get some things done.
I felt slightly better on Saturday and I was going to do Training and gates to see how I felt but they were cancelled due to really high winds so I stayed in bed when I wasn’t at the computer working.
Sunday morning the weather looked better so I woke my son up and got him to the track for his first training session on clipless pedals. Unfortunately the cleats on his shoes would not clip in so he had to borrow my race shoes which were a couple of sizes too big for him so it wasn’t the best session ever. I tried to ride but wasn’t feeling 100% and had a really floaty head and my legs felt really achy too so I didn’t do too much in the end.
This morning (Monday) I woke up and did a weigh in and was shocked to see that I had put on 1.8kgs this week so I was up from 103.9kgs last week to 105.7kgs this week!! I was a bit shocked as I can see that my body has started to change for the better so I thought that I would have been around the same weight as last week maybe slightly heavier but definitely not 1.8kgs heavier! It is especially weird as I stopped drinking Coca Cola at the end of the week as well!
I am planning to get back into training this week so hopefully I can get back to losing weight again as long as the illness that I have had lets me train!
I am planning to go to the track at lunch time and do some full pump laps and then I was thinking of measuring my times for doing parts of the track to set baselines so that. I can measure my progress over the next 8 months. I want to do times for the each straight and then times for 1st and 2nd straights, 1st, 2nd and 3rd straights and the full track. I do not think that I have it in me at the moment to time all of these in one session so I will do 3 x 1st straights, 3 x 2nd, 3 x 3rd and 3 x 4th straights today and then Wednesday I will get times for 3 x 1st and 2nd straights, 3 x 1st, 2nd and 3rd straights and then if I can manage it full lap times. I then plan to get times every month until the end of the year to measure my progress.
I have decided that I will wait until the beginning of next year to stop drinking Coca cola again as I will have a holiday and I can also make it a new years resolution again to help to stop. It will be easier to stop when I am on holiday as I get really tired and get really bad headache’s when I stop which is mainly due to caffeine and sugar withdrawal so stopping when I am working is pretty hard to do. I have been thinking about new years resolutions and they will basically be the same as last year in that I want to stop drinking Coca Cola, lose weight and be more consistent with my training. This year I will be helped to stick to this by the fact that I need to get fit for the Worlds in July so for at least the first half of the year I will have something to keep me motivated.
