Weigh-in – Pre Road to Worlds 2022 Training

Weigh-in – Pre Road to Worlds 2022 Training

I woke up this morning and had a weigh in and I was surprised that I had lost weight from my last weigh in a couple of weeks ago! I had only dropped 0.2kgs from 104.3kgs to 104.1kgs but still all weight loss is good weight loss. I have also not been doing much exercise recently and I am back on the Coca Cola again!

I then started work and didn’t really stop work until 6pm so I missed my first Sprint Interval workout (SIT) but I was playing basketball at 8pm so wasn’t too upset about it!

I am taking today as my starting point for my road to the Worlds training diary so my starting weight for the training is 104.1kgs.

My goal is to drop to 80kgs by July next year so I have to drop 24.1kgs in 38 weeks or 0.68kgs a week for 38 weeks.

So basically I need to keep on pace by losing 0.5kgs a week from now until July next year and I will be 5.1 kgs above my goal weight. I would think that for the first couple of months my weight will drop more than 0.5kgs a week as my body adjusts to the increased training loads so I think if I aim for the 0.5kgs a week I should be able to reach my 80kg target weight by the time I race at the worlds. Obviously my weight will be secondary to fitness and performance gains but it is an easily measurable metric that should corelate to improvements in power as a lower weight will mean a greater power to weight ratio and therefore increased power output and therefore increased speed!

As stated before from now until February next year I am going to be training with the following daily workouts:

Mondays – SIT Training (or Basketball if it is on)

Tuesdays – Sprint Training

Wednesdays – Club racing in Bristol or Basketball match

Thursdays – SIT Training

Fridays – Sprint Training

Saturdays – Coaching

Sundays – Rest/ Recovery ride.
