Weight = 106.5 kgs
Steps = Steps
So again this week I haven’t done a lot other than Bike rides on Saturday, Sunday and Monday:
I was really enjoying riding then life got in the way and I didn’t have time to do much else all week other than walk the dog a bit every day!
Today I was thinking about my steps and I decided that I needed to buy another treadmill as it is the only way that I can get more steps in at the moment with the lack of light and horrible weather! When I had a working treadmill I was able to at least walk at night to make sure that I got to at least 10000 steps before going to bed!
With a new treadmill it also means that I can start waking up at 5 am again and walking for an hour before work again to get back in the habit of waking up and walking straight away then when it is light again in the mornings I can get up and walk outside! I will also be able to get back in the habit of walking when I am working as well to break up the long bouts of sitting that I am doing when at home at the moment!
All this should help me kick start getting fit again!

I have just bit the bullet and bought one of THESE treadmills. It is the next model up from my old walking pad and had automatically adjustable Incline so that I can simulate walking up hill which is harder and burns was more calories than walking on the flat! Again it fits under my standing desk so that I can walk and work when I am doing something that I don’t need to fully concentrate which will help getting my step count up! I can also walk after work while I watch YouTube and Netflix like I did last year which I found really useful and it really got the weight dropping off and also made sure that I got my goal steps every day!
Once the treadmill arrives which should be around Wednesday next week I will again set a target of 12000 steps a day to hit then once I am used to walking every day again I will up that to 15000 steps a day. I will try and do most of my steps on an incline as it burns way more calories. When I asked Google AI if walking on an incline burns more calories it answered:
Yes, walking on an incline burns significantly more calories than walking on flat ground because it forces your body to work against gravity, increasing the metabolic cost. Studies show a 5% incline increases calorie burn by about 52%, while a 10% incline can boost it by over 100% (more than double) compared to flat walking.
If I can burn more calories just by walking on an incline then I may as well do it 🙂
I have been unable to get back into the habit of waking up at 5 am other than to get to work so getting up and walking should get me back into the habit more easily and I intend to get up and walk EVERY morning other than the 3 days that I am in the office so weekends as well. I think that this is the best way for me to get back into the habit of waking up at 5 am quickly.
