Week 39 – 21/09/2025 to 27/09/2025

Sunday 21/09/2025

Weight = 105 kgs

Steps = 11249 Steps

This morning I had a lie in until about 9:00 and then got ready and woke my son up and got him moving then we drove to Frome and got food for a Sunday roast and I also bought a gammon joint for my mum to cook me so I have food for the week ๐Ÿ™‚ We then headed to my parents and got to work building the storage tent and then moving a bunch of stuff from the garage into the tent before stopping about 2pm for dinner.

A bit later on I drove my son home in my parents car and then drove back to theirs to stay the night as I would have to ride the ebike home in the morning. In the evening I went for a really slow walk with my dad and the dog then went to bed. Seeing I did no actual exercise other than walking the dog I got an impressive 11249 steps in for the day!

Monday 22/09/2025

Weight = 104.9 kgs

Steps = 10400 Steps

This morning I got up at 4:45, got dressed and then rode the ebike home:

WhatsApp Image 2025 09 25 at 07.43.29I did the 22.01 mile ride in 1 hour 29 minutes and 05 seconds which is well below the usual 1 hour 37 that I usually do it ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I averaged 14.8 miles per hour too which is pretty impressive on an e single speed bike and even more impressive as I gained 1401 feet on the ride too!

When I got home I did my weigh-in (104.9 kgs)ย  I then showered and then got dressed and rode into the office and got on with a switch swap that I had planned to do. I then worked in the office until 12:00 when I headed home and then I worked the rest of the day until 22:00 as I was on call!

I managed to just scrape the 10400 steps for the day even though I didn’t get much exercise in the afternoon! So all in all a good day!

Tuesday 23/09/2025

Weight = 106.1 kgs

Steps = 14118 Steps

This morning I had a lie in until about 7:00 as I took the morning off as time back from working on Friday night. When I got up I did my weigh-in and was surprised to see that I was up to 106.1 kgs this morning (Up 1.2 kgs from yesterday!) which is not ideal but I am feeling leaner so I guess that the extra weight is water weight and added muscle from all the ebiking! My legs are definitely way more jacked than they were before all of the ebiking so I am hopeful that that is it!ย

I then did the washing up and then headed to my parents house on the ebike again:

WhatsApp Image 2025 09 25 at 07.42.00I had a more chilled ride this morning as I wasn’t in a hurry to get there as I had all day so I was back to 1 hour 37 minutes and 02 seconds again although the bike was being a bell end and the rear hub was slipping under load on all the hills this morning ๐Ÿ™ย  I also rode a bit further due to having to zig zag up hills to reduce the hub slippage as much as possible on the big hills! My average was also down to 13.7 miles per hour too although this way is way more hilly than the ride back to bath and has and extra 50ft of climbing and the cycle paths have a slight incline all of the way too! I was also carrying an extra 20 kgs at least of screw in tent pegs and an impact driver and battery and charger as well!

When I got to my parents I got to work pegging down the storage tent with the screw in pegs so I am happy that it is not going anywhere now ๐Ÿ™‚ I also pulled the ends tighter to make the tent as waterproof as possible too. I then took the dog for a quick walk then my parents left and I got to work hoovering and mopping the whole house. I then chilled until they got home and then about 19:30 I took their car and headed home.

By the end of the day I was on a not too shabby 14118 Steps for the day ๐Ÿ™‚ย

Wednesday 24/09/2025

Weight = 105.5 Kgs

Steps = 11018ย Steps

This morning I woke up at at 6:30, did my weigh-in and I was down a bit to 105.5 kgs again so still heavy but better than yesterday! I started work and worked until about 10:30 when I rode the S&M Big Jumper into the office which was super fun and I had forgotten how responsive it was ๐Ÿ™‚ I did hurt my shoulder a bit using a drop curb as a ramp but it was worth it! Even though I have been 100% e biking for the past month I felt surprisingly good riding the analog bike which is a good sign that I am getting zone 2 in on the ebike! For someone like me that can;t ride slowly maybe the ebike is the answer for getting zone 2 training in ๐Ÿ™‚ I then fixed an issue and then headed home again! I then worked through lunch and then finished early after a meeting I had that finished about 3 pm.

I then drove to my parents house and did some measuring of the garage and gave them a list of things that I need for the weekend and at about 17:00 I headed home on the ebike:

WhatsApp Image 2025 09 25 at 07.59.07 Even though I wasn’t pushing it too hard I again managed a 1 hour 30 minutes ride home and averaged 14.6 miles per hour and climbed 1410 ft! The rear hub slipped out so much on one hill that I almost had to stop and push the bike! Luckily I will not have to put up with it for much longer as I chased up my Cycle to work Scheme progress today and it all seems to be going through and will go live on the 1st of October so I should have my certificate and be able to go bike shopping by the 14th October at the latest hopefully.

I am still torn between getting a full on hard tail commuting bike with lights and mudguards and a half decent full sus emtb that will not be great for either on road OR offroad! Or in the case of a couple of the bikes good offroad but not so great on road and have smaller batteries! At the moment I am leaning towards a commuter bike as the main objective at the moment is riding to work and back when I move so a full blown commuter bike with a 800 watt hour battery and only front suspension makes sense. I can always get a decent full sus emtb once I have sold my flat and not spending all of my wages on paying off bills and debt!!! Then I will have a decent trail bike and a decent commuter bike as well!

When I got home I chilled and then went to sleep about 21:00! I managed a not too shabby 11018 Stepsย today ๐Ÿ™‚
