Sunday 10th August 2025
Weight = 102.9 kgs
Steps = 4530 Steps
This morning I woke up at 5:00 with my alarm and then went back to sleep until I woke up at 5:30 ish so I got up and did my weigh-in and I was surprised to see that I was down below 103 kgs again today (102.9kgs)! I then went back to sleep until about 9:30 when I got up, ate, showered and headed to the track to meet my friends! I am not sure what was going on with me today but i really struggled to get out of bed and ended up arriving almost 30 minutes late to meet my friends which is really un-like me! I grabbed the new Shimano Saints cranks off of my friend when I saw him too and they are super new!
I then rode until about 12:30 and then headed to may parents for the afternoon and had lunch 🙂
I then stayed at my parents until 17:00 when I headed home via my friends house to grab the Black Market and chatted for a while and then headed home! While I was at my parents I also swapped the Standard OS20 for my black Curtis as I need to build it up as my winter bike! I may also try the bouncy forks on it too.
When I got home I chilled for a bit then went to sleep at about 21:30. By the end of the day I had only done 4530 Steps 🙁
Monday 11th August 2025
Weight = 102.9 kgs
Steps = 8033 Steps
This morning I woke up at 5:00 and snoozed for 10 minutes before getting up and doing my weigh-in. I was still 102.9 kgs which considering the amount of Sunday lunch and cold meat I ate all afternoon was pretty impressive! I also did less that 5000 steps yesterday so I was pretty sure that the weight was going to go up so staying the same is a bonus 🙂
I then ate and drank some LNMT and then got dressed and drove to the track and walked from the road to the track and got the S&M out of the container and did some 3rd and 4th straights again! This morning I worked on pull manual on and manual off of the camel and I got a hand full that were clean and smooth and defo faster then pump on manual off I think. At about 6:30 I headed back to the car, loaded the S&M onto the roof and then headed home.
By the time I got home I was on 2181 Steps already so at 6 am I was on almost half of my steps that I did yesterday! That being said I still have a lot of walking to get done today to get to 10000 steps by bedtime and I am on call tonight so I will need to go for a walk at some point!
When I got home at about 12:30 and then started working again about 14:00 and then worked all the away through to 22:00 so no real time for walking this evening! By the end of the day I was only on 8033 steps by the end of the day so well under 10000 steps I wanted to do!
Tuesday 12th August 2025
Weight = 102.9 kgs
Steps = 5570 Steps
This morning I woke up at 5:00 and decided to sleep another hour as I was super tired! I then got up at 6:00 and did my weigh-in and I was 102.0 kgs again this morning! The 3rd day in a row that I am the same weight! I then did some work then showered and went to the office on the S&M? On the way home at about 11:00 I mad a discovery! I need a longer stem to make the S&M better at sprinting as when I get in a sprint position my knees hit the bars! I am looking for a 50 mm stem at the moment to try when I get paid!
When I finished work at 12:00 I got my son moving and then we went driving as he is now on my insurance so for the first time in 3 months since passing his test he is able to drive 🙂
We got home about 17:00 and I am just cooking food before dragging my son out for a walk in a bit as I am only on 4857 steps at the moment!
By the end of the day I was only on 5570 Steps 🙁

So I woke up without an alarm at 5:20 and shot out of bed and did my weigh-in and I was still 102.9 kgs. Being a bit skeptical that I was still 102.9 kgs again today (4th day in a row!) I tested to make sure that the scales weren’t knackered by grabbing a dumbbell weighing myself again and I was heavier by the correct weight so I guess I have hit a plateau Where the food that I am eating is enough to keep me the same weight 🙂 I haven’t been walking that much recently so I need to step that up to try and kick start some weight loss again!
I then did some work, ate and then got dressed and about 6:15 I was at the track and doing 3rd and 4th straights. The new cranks feel really good as does being clipped in again 🙂 I’ll be honest I think that being clipped in helps the most and even though I am used to riding flats now as soon as I have clips on I am able to tap manual and hop out of manuals to get more backside from them! I think I will stick to riding clips on the track and flats everywhere else for now.
I have just got a notification that my Profile Racing Cranks are going to be here between 9:00 and 12:00 so that is exciting although I can’t fit them now as I need to spend another at least £100 to fit them on the S&M. Although looking on the Ultra BMX Gearing chart I could drop a tooth on the back and then go 30 x 15 and that would be the same gearing as the current 32 x 16 so I may try that instead. That being said 31 x 15 is a roll-out of 54.13 which is just below a 37 x 16 on the Cruiser (54.35 roll out) so that may be the best option especially as I have a 31t Tall Order Sprocket in the parts box already so that saves the £40 on a sprocket too 🙂
I am going to leave the bike alone for now but I may well get a 15t rear cog and try running the 31 x 15 with the Profile Racing Cranks to have less things to go wrong with them as the Profile Cranks don’t have any chain ring bolts to get loose and fall off etc. However the Saints are super stiff and similar to the DXR’s that I run on the Cruiser!

This morning I woke up at 5:00 and did my weigh in and I am up 0.1 kgs this morning to 103 kgs. I then did some work which took longer than expected and then I headed to the track for a bit. While I was at the track it started raining so I gave up and headed home so I only got about 30 minutes riding in. I then showered and got dressed and rode into the office and did some more work. At about 8:00 I was finished with the stuff that needed doing in the office so I headed back home where I worked until 12:00 when I headed to the track and rode for another 30 minutes or so and then grabbed my road bike and StayStrong Cruiser before heading home. I then worked until 4 and then chilled for a bit before heading back to the track again for club racing.
At the last minute I decided to race and it went better than expected to be honest and I finished 4th and was the fastest Oldie so not bad considering I was on a dirt jump bike 🙂
I was struggling in my first 2 motos then got it together to get a 3rd in my 3rd moto which meant that I got 8th pick in the A final 🙂 I somehow got gate 5 for the final and I got a good gate and had a clear straight line into the first berm and I was surprised that I was in 4th place and I managed to put in a full lap and managed to finish 4th even though I almost got caught on the line 🙂
More importantly than the finish position was that I got 4 full speed laps in and my work on the 3rd and 4th straights is paying off as it made doing a full lap really easy as I just went into training mode and thought about being smooth and fast 🙂
After racing the S&M I think that I need to put a slightly higher gearing on as I was flagging between the 1st and second jump and running out of gear before the 1st jump too. I still think I need a longer stem as well.
By the end of the day I was on 10636 steps and I was super tired and after getting a shower when I got home I went pretty much straight to bed!
Friday 15th August 2025

This morning I woke up at 5 am with my alarm and then got up and did my weigh in and I was back down to 102.9 kgs which seems to be my standard weight this week! I was feeling good considering I raced last night so I got dressed and headed to the track! I had left my bike and helmets in the container last night so I parked the car on the road and walked up to the track and then did 30 minutes or so of 3rd and 4th straights just to get some practice in! I was a bit sore from racing last night but it was all good. I then remembered that it was pay day so I paid my friend for the cranks and paid some money to my son too. I also put a bid in for a 50mm reach Burgtec MK3 stem which is the longer version of my current stem on the S&M. I also bought a couple sets of ODI longneck v2.1 grips to try out as my friend has them on his DJ bike and I really liked the feel when I rode it at the weekend. I will put a set on my S&M and on my Curtis winter bike too so they both feel the same. The longnecks are basically just the ODI mushroom grips from back in the day so they should be good 🙂 And they definitely feel good with no gloves which is good for now but will not be important in the winter when you have to wear gloves anyway!
I then showered and got dressed and rode the S&M into the office and worked until 9am when I headed home again. I am a bit worried that I am going to get full on DOMS tomorrow as I am feeling surprisingly good at the moment.
So I have just been on the Halo web site and they do not make a 15t sprocket for their DJ hubs so I will not be able to run 31 x 15 as I had planned. This mean that I will most likely just stick to the 32 x 16 that I am on and learn to spin over the winter!
The rest of the day I basically worked so I was either sat down or led down. I did however but a DMR Defy50+ 35mm stem so that I can try the S&M with the longer stem to see if I can get in a better sprint position with the bars further forwards. I guess we will see next week when it arrives.
By the end of the day I was only on 6610 Steps for the day again so next week I need to make more of an effort to go walking in the evening to get to 10000 steps before bed!
Friday 16th August 2025

Steps = 12808 Steps
So this morning I woke up at 5:30 and got up and did my weigh in and although I am feeling thinner than ever I had put 1.1 kgs back on this morning 🙁 I think a lot of the extra weight is muscle and water weight as my legs and arms are deffo looking bigger and my torso is looking way leaner! I guess I am getting to the stage where I need to look at getting somebody composition scales soon!
I have now been doing some work and then I am heading to the track for an hour or so to have a play. I then have to come home and give my son a lift to his mum’s and then get showered and changed ready to go back to the track to help out with the track work.
So I got to the track about 6:15 and left at almost 7:30 so I did a good hour but I was a bit sore this morning so it was a bit of a lackluster session to be honest! I am hurting more today than I did yesterday that is for sure!
When I got home I made some food and then gave my son a lift to his Mum’s house and then headed back to the track for a couple of hours and did a load of weeding on the first straight and then headed home and showered and chilled for a bit and ate again and then about 13:00 I headed to my parents to look after the dog! I pretty much did nothing for the rest of the day as I was hanging. I did walk the dog a bit at about 19:00 but that was the extent of my exertion for the day 🙂 I was super sore so decided that it was a good idea to not push it!
By the end of the day I was on 12808 steps for the day which is pretty good for a weekend!
