Weight – Didn’t have chance to weigh-in
Steps = 14850 Steps
So I woke up late this morning about 6:30 and then got dressed got the dog in the car and then we headed to my parents house. I hoovered and mopped the conservatory/ kitchen and both bathrooms then I took the dog out for a walk around the woods loop. The woods were really overgrown when r got there so we had to take a detour through the trees which was an adventure at least but meant that we walked further again and a lot if the way we were ducking down under trees etc which was harder going that I was planning 🙂
When we got back I put the dog out in the garden with a bowl of water and I blitzed through the house with the hoover and put all the dining table chairs back in the conservatory as the floor was now dry and we then headed home.
By the time I got home I was on 10827 steps so a good mornings work and it is only 10:30 🙂
I am now organizing all the frames and taking more photos of the frames to get them on Facebook to sell in the race for sale groups to get them sold as the club group has had no interest so far 🙁 I will then get them into the garage out of the way as my flat looks like a bike shop again with BMX bikes and parts all over the place 🙁 Once the tools that I need to build up the StayStrong arrive I will get the parts taken off of the Curtis and get them onto the V4 although I will have to wait until the Disk Brake Adapter and chain arrives before I can get the bike fully built up so it will be next week at the earliest I would think!
At about 19:00 we headed to the track for a walk and then headed to Radstock for the night. The dog basically got in the door had a drink then went to bed so I did too 🙂 I was on 14850 Steps by the end of the day so not bad at all 🙂
Monday 28th July 2025
Weight – 104.1 kgs
Steps = 12276 Steps
So this morning I begrudgingly got up with my alarm at 5:00 and the dog took even more persuading to get out of bed this morning 🙂 We then got in the car and went to the track and had a walk then we headed home and I did some work and then did my weigh-in where I found that I am 0.1 kgs heavier than I was on Saturday 🙁 I really need to make an effort to start priming again once my brother is back and I can get back into my routine again! With the dog here I have been walking a lot more than I would probably have been without the dog and I have averaged 10971 steps a day for the 6 days that he has been here so the weight gain is from lack of riding and eating badly so if I can keep the walking going AND Add BMX and weight training the mix AND eat cleaner I should be lighter in no time!
Although I am heavier than I have been in the past few weeks I am feeling really good at the moment so this just shows that I need to walk EVERY day to feel good 🙂 I am also thinking about getting a mattress topper as my brother’s bed has one and I have been sleeping really soundly with it and not rolling over half as much as I do at home so I definitely think that it is time to get a topper!
I am now getting showered and dressed and I will then head into the office. I am going to ride the S&M to have a play on it. I may try and get to the track at lunchtime for a play too as my Son is doggy sitting this morning so I should be OK to slope off for a bit.
I have just got back from the office and I have to say I am loving the S&M as a ride about bike too. While I was riding to work I sat on the seat which was pretty low and I was still able to stand up pain free so I think that the NMN combined with the increased walking over the past 2 weeks may well be working 🙂
At 18:30 we took the dog for a post dinner walk and that got me to about 12000 steps for the day then I worked for the rest of the night. By the end of the day I was on 12276 Steps for the day and really knackered from a long days work 🙁
Tuesday 29th July 2025
Weight – 104.5 kgs
Steps = 4442 Steps
So this morning I woke up at 6:15 after turning off my alarm at 6 while I was asleep. I was super tired and it was raining so I headed straight home and started work instead of walking the dog. At 7:00 I fed the dog then at 7:30 we went for a bit of a walk so the dog could go to the bathroom at least! I am off this afternoon so we can go for a long walk then! I got notifications that the Gusset Slink pings have been posted AND the StayStrong Disk Adapter too so I should be able to get the StayStrong built up this week hopefully 🙂
I have loved having the dog but I am really looking forwards to riding my bike first thing before it gets too dark to do it again 🙁 I need to start getting back in the habit of going to the track at lunch times again as soon that will be the only time that I can ride soon!
So the chain pins arrived at about 10:00 this morning BUT I have just been given a notification that the disk adapter will not arrive until tomorrow between 9:26 and 13:26 tomorrow so I can’t start building the StayStrong until that arrives!
I may get the Curtis broken down and the StayStrong mocked up ready to go tomorrow but I am not sure! I have decided to build the StayStong up with my Onyx back wheel and the cranks from the Curtis to for now to save having to mess with anything. It will also be a good test to compare my gate times to the Curtis with all the same parts on it!
This afternoon I will wash the OS20 and swap out the stem as it is going onto the StayStrong and then I will get the Standard up for sale and also put all the other frames on Facebook and Ebay to sell as well. This week I also need to go over to my parents house and take photos of all the other bikes that I am selling and get them up for sale too!
So in the afternoon we slept and chilled until about 19:00 when I packed up all the dog’s things and we headed to the track for a walk and then I took him back to my brothers and then headed home.
By the end of the day I was only on 4442 Steps for the Day 🙁 BUT I was super rested so its maybe not a bad thing!
Wednesday 30th July 2025
Weight = 104.5 kgs
Steps = 10677 Steps
So this morning I slept in again until 6:00 then I got up and did my weigh-in and I was still 104.5 kgs so not lost any weight but I have not gained any more either so it could be worse! I then did some work and then showered and got dressed and headed into the office on the S&M for just after 7:00. I have to say the more that I ride the S&M the more I like it so super happy with the purchase 🙂 I just hope that now I can slam the seat I can get used to it on the track too 🙂
The ride home was just as enjoyable as the ride in 🙂 I did however realize that I had left my fitbit charging when I left for the office so my step count and activity levels will be a tad off today 🙁 Not a massive deal as I am not in a strict training phase at the moment so its all good!
I have decided that I need to get moved out of the flat ASAP to get it sorted and sold so that I can get out of debt and start sorting out the garage at my parents for me to live in! I am thinking that while I get the garage sorted I may buy a garden room to live in then when I move into the garage the garden room can be my gym/ bike store to make more room in the garage 🙂 Because I want to move out I am going to hold off on buying a mattress topper until I get myself sorted and I am using my bed again. I think I will also need to get a collapsible storage container to store all my crap in until everything is sorted.
I am planning to go to the track at lunchtime and play on the S&M again and then this evening I will get all my frames that I have here to sell up on ebay and try and get them sold! Hopefully the disk brake adapter for the StayStrong is arriving today too so I can get that built up with all the bits from the Curtis today too 🙂 I will most likely wait until the weekend to go to my parents and take pictures of the bike that I have to sell and get them up on the internet too. I also have to finish building up the StayStong that I need to give back to my friend who sold me my StayStrong as she wants to get that up for sale as well and will be at gates tomorrow so I want to get it out of the house 🙂 I will need to cut the disk brake adapter up to get the cones out of it as there is no way to free it otherwise 🙁 I would like to have a play on my StayStrong at gates tomorrow to if possible too. Also once it is built up it can live in the car out of the way too 🙂 As the bottom bracket that came with the StayStong frame is a bit crusty once I get paid I will get a new ceramic locking bb from Crucial then the bike is ready to go for the winter 🙂 I will take what is left of the Curtis to my Parents at the weekend to store it there so it is out of the flat 🙂 That being said I may not like the StayStrong so I may just sell that too and use the Black Curtis as my winter bike with the Black Profile Mini wheel on it as the Profile Elite wheel on it needs to be worked on as it is really bent at the moment! Although if i really like the S&M I may jsut stick some DXR’s and a 32T chain ring on it and use that for everything over the winter which would simplify everything 🙂
At lunch time I went up to the track and did some full laps on the S&M and I have to say with the seat slammed it feels really good. I got 7 full laps in before I had to come home to get back to work.
When I put the S&M on the car I noticed that the chain ring had obviously been hitting the frame as you can see from the photo on the left 🙁 The cranks were feeling a bit flexie so I will try my Shimano Saints on the S&M to see if it is any better or not. I also have some Shimano Zee’s as well so either will work I think!
I have just checked and both the Zee’s and the Saint cranks are both 170mm so shorter than the 175mm that I am riding on the race BMX but it should be fine for now. If they work then I will get some 175mm Saints at some point but I have ridden 170mm before and they are fine!
I am just going to swap back wheels on the StayStrong V4 as the Onyx wheel is not spinning very freely when the back wheel is tightened up which is annoying! I will try the Profile Elite wheel that I have as a spare now to see of it is any better or not as I want to ride it at gates tomorrow night.
So after work today I swapped out the wheel on the StayStrong and it looks like the bearings on my Onyx Wheel may have gone as it doesn’t spin well even off of the bike! I put the Profile Elite wheel on the StayStrong and it is normal so less bad I guess 🙂
I also got the Shimano Saints Cranks fitted on the S&M and that now has a bit more clearance than the old cranks did. I will cover the scratch today somehow and hopefully that will solve the issue. I did try DXR’s but they had less clearance than the old cranks did so I went with the Saints for now!
A 32 T chain ring is the smallest that will work on the Saints so if I need to go smaller I will need to buy a set of BMX 3 Piece cranks and an external 19mm bb and try that. Off the top of my head a 25 x 14 gearing is the exact same ratio as the 32 x 16 that I am running now so that may be the way to go but for now the Saints will do!
At about 20:00 I went for a walk along the 2 tunnels to get the last 4000 steps in for the day and by the end of the day I was on 10677 Steps. Just before I went to sleep I got a message from my son to say he was going to stay at mine tonight as we are going to go to the bank at lunch time to sort out his savings account so that he can start earning compound interest and we need to get the money that he has in his savings out to pay for the insurance on the car so he can start driving. This meant that I didn’t get to sleep until about 23:00 🙁
Thursday 31st July 2025 – Started Fast at 17:00
Weight = 105.4 kgs
Steps = 12999 Steps
So this morning my alarm went off at 5:00 and I immediately reset it for 6:00 and went back to sleep! At 6:00 I got up and did my weigh-in and I was up almost 1kg (0.9 kgs) to 105.4 kgs again! Some of that will be added muscle and water weight from doing a semi proper training session yesterday and some of it will be from eating crap again yesterday! I have decided that from 17:00 tonight until 5:00 Saturday I am fasting then I will be 100% carnivore from then on for 30 days to see how much weight I can drop!
So gates was a bit lackluster as it was raining a lot to start with so the track was really wet. I tried riding the StayStrong and it was OK but I need to play around with the bar height a bit I think and I am also used to the S&M more now! I ended up riding the S&M more and did some gates on it and the cranks feel OK but are a bit short although that is probably a good thing as my knee was really sore today! I think I need to stay on the shorter cranks for a bit an put the 172.5mm cranks on the StayStrong as well! I left the StayStrong in the container tonight and just brought the S&M home with me. Tomorrow I need to re-align the rear wheel as its way to the left but other than that the new cranks feel really good and I will get used to them pretty quickly I think! I really do love the S&M and I am so glad that I bought it!
I may have also sold the Standard too so I need to build it up again for my friend to try it out. I wasn’t planning on selling it as a complete bike but I may well do now then I can just fix the rear wheel on the Curtis and ride that again!
By the end of the day I was on 12999 Steps which is really good but I had a super sore knee and didn’t get to sleep until way past 23:00 🙁
Friday 1st August 2025 – Fasted Day
Weight = 105.7 kgs
Steps = 1978 Steps
So this morning I struggled to wake up and it was gone 6:00 when I woke up and I almost went back to sleep until 7:00 until I remembered I had stuff to get done today! I eventually got up and did my weigh-in and I am up again to 105.7 kgs so I put on another 0.3 kgs yesterday 🙁 I am hoping to lose a lot of the gained weight over the next couple days as I started fasting at 17:00 last night and I am going to go all day today without food to kick start the weight loss and also keep the asthma at bay! When I start eating again I am going to be strict Carnivore for the next 30 days to see what that does to my weight and body composition! I have been eating really badly for the past month or so which is making me feel worse, undoing all the benefits that I gained from the 3 day fast that I did and also costing me a lot of money too! This coming month is about getting healthy, losing weight and starting to get my finances in check too!
As my massage gun got fried when it got wet at racing the other week I bought a new one last night as I am missing the benefits from in in terms of leg soreness so I will get back to massaging my legs after riding ASAP. I also need to start warming up and cooling down properly as well and try and sort my knee out again! I also need to reduce the length of my cranks again until my knee is sorted as its starting to get annoying again! I also need to get a mattress topper as my back is way worse after a couple of days sleeping at home again 🙁
After work I was feeling really dizzy and tired so I went to bed for a bit then got 4th wind and got up and found my Dremel multi-tool and Cut the wheel cone out of the disk adapter and put the wheel back on my friends bike. I then went back to bed and did some research on Running shoes and bought some so that i can start running with my son when he is here as he needs to get in shape for his Air Force physical test when he applies later in the year! I am going to run 3 times a week for a while to get in shape on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and I will do Weights on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons too. By the time I had finished my trainer buying it was time for bed 🙂 For the day I only did 1978 Steps all day which is pretty poor but I managed to fast all day so its fine. I am hoping as I get used to fasting on Fridays I will be able to build up to walking 10000 steps at some point!
Saturday 2nd August 2025 – Ended Fast at 5:30
Weight = 103.9 kgs
Steps = Steps
So I woke up with my alarm at 5:00 and I did my weigh-in and I was shocked to see that I was back down to 103.9 kgs this morning so I dropped 1.8 kgs doing the 36 hour fast 🙂 I then made some burgers and ate one of them and put the other one in the fridge for later and topped the other one with cheese and ate it while updating my blog. I am now getting ready to go to Bristol for a play on the S&M and try it out at Patchway and then probably Little Stoke as well. I will then pop back to Bath for a bit and play on the StayStrong to get that dialled in as the bars felt really low when I rode it but that could be because I am used to the S&M now! While I was eating breakfast I also adjusted the back wheel on the S&M so that it was straight as it was too far over to the left when I looked on Thursday night and it messed with my head a little bit!
I have been thinking about the bike situation and for now I am going to just ride the S&M to do everything then I will fix the back wheel on the Black Curtis and get that running and I will use that for gates and I will probably sell the StayStrong as a complete bike to get money to pay for it and also to pay off some of my credit cards. I also need to get my Race Onyx wheel serviced as it is spinning like crap. I will give it and the Black Curtis Wheel to my friend to sort when he is back from the worlds.
I had a change of plans and I decided to just go to Bath again this morning to save on petrol and also make my day easier 🙂
So I think going to Bath was a great idea as I have just spent a full 2 hours sessioning the 3rd and 4th straights and I did so many new manuals today its crazy 🙂 I also started sending the 3rd on 3rd which I have been scared of since I crashed on it and it took me out for 2 years! I wasn’t anywhere near clearing it but I was sacking up to jump it and trying to jump so its the first step ticked off. By the end of the session I was consistently getting my front wheel over so I just need to focus on jumping going forwards and I will get it at some point! There is no rush 🙂 The only slight downer on the session was that the chain ring is still rubbing on the dropout so I have a new line on there now with no paint on it! I will try adding one more spacer and see if that sorts it and if not I will need to get a 25T sprocket for my DJ cranks and a new driver and 12T sprocket to change up the gearing to 25 x 12 which is exactly the same rollout as the 32 x 16 is 🙂
I will then cover the scratches with black vinyl to protect it from the elements until i can get some touch-up paint to paint over the scratches. While I was at the track I got a few more photos of the S&M for posterity:
The 2 start hill photo’s show that it is getting light later as it was way past 6:00 when I took the photo’s and its still a bit dark although it didn’t seem dark to my eyes so maybe the phone doesn’t see the light as well as my eyes do or vice versa 🙂 However light it was I had the sun in my eyes for most of the session as it rises behind the trees on the 3rd straight when it rises. I am definitely not complaining as it is going to be horrible in a few months when its dark until about 8 am again 🙁 I am just about to add another bb spacer so that I can see if it stops the chain ring rubbing or not before I have to shell out for a new driver etc and mess about with the chain again as I am just getting used to the way the bike rides and loving it 🙂 I have alos done twice as many steps as I did yesterday and its only 8:00! I’m on 4250 Steps already so almost half way to my 10000 steps for the day 🙂 So Halo had a 12T sprocket in stock so I bought it so I have one but I have just added another bb spacer to the S&M and it has clearance and the chain line looks OK too. I will see how it rides this evening as I plan to go back to the track again later on. If I need to put a 25T on the front I will just have to get an external 19mm euro bb and then I can use the cranks off of one of my other bikes until I get the money to buy some Profile racing cranks for the S&M. I am pretty sure that it will be fine now so fingers crossed.
At just after 19:00 I went for my evening stroll but got about 10 minutes in and had to turn around as I had left all the windows open! After closing all the windows I headed out and did my short route and when I got home I was on just over 12000 steps for the day.
By the end of the day after doing the washing up and organizing the flat a bit I finished up on 12243 Steps for the day!
