Sunday 20th July 2025 – RACE DAY 🙂
Weight = 102.9 kgs
Steps = 11940 Steps
So I woke up at 6:00 instead of 5:00 as planned as I was tired as I struggled to sleep again last night 🙁 When I got up I did my weigh-in and I was shocked that I was down to 102.9 kgs which means that I lost 0.6 kgs yesterday doing very little at all! So I guess that the 30/30/30 protocol may well be living up to the hype 🙂 We will see how my weight drops going forwards but yesterday I ate more than ever and still lost weight and the only exercise I did was walk 10000 steps which is crazy! This morning I felt way more toned and my belly is definitely looking smaller so hopefully I keep dropping fat like this going forwards 🙂
If the 30/30/30 means that I keep dropping fat at this rate then I’m all in and will force myself to eat first thing even though it is not natural for me any more!
I am now off for a walk to finish my 30/30/30 protocol for the day then I’m getting ready for racing and heading to Bristol 🙂
So race day went really well to be honest I didn’t really have a full lap on me but I got 2nd, 2nd and 3rd in my motos and was in 3rd in my Final until my legs stopped working and I started going backwards and ended up 7th 🙁 My gates and 1st and 2nd straights were really good all day and my 3rd straights were OK but I was completely dead by the 4th and 5th straights so I need to work on my stamina over the winter 🙂 I also got the DMR back from my friend so that I can take it apart ready for the S&M frame arriving then I can build up the S&M with the parts off of the DMR. My friend was super upset that he had to give the DMR back as he loves it so I may try and find some semi decent wheels and build it up for him to buy at a discounted price as a surprise.
I have just finished washing, drying, gt85’ing and oiling the chain on the Curtis so it is all ready to go in the morning when I go for sprints. I have also put the long seat post on the bike as well so that I can ride the bike to the sprint spot as well on Tuesday morning. I have also bought a Force Fitness Rucking Backpack from ebay to try and work on my leg fitness while walking as well. When it arrives I will start using it with the 9kg rucksack weight that I bought a while back and then use the backpack whenever I go for a walk. When the weight gets too light I will buy a new Force Fitness weight to go with the rucksack.
From Tuesday I will start doing body-weight squats, single leg squats, calf raises and step ups on the same days that I am doing sprints (Tuesday and Fridays at the moment). I am going to do high reps to try and start building leg stamina. This week I will start with trying to do 100 squats, 100 Split Squats (50 per leg), 100 double leg calf raises and 100 step ups (50 per leg) and then next week I will try and do 2 sets of 100 then the week after try 3 x 100 etc etc until I reach 10 sets of 100 reps and then I will leave it at that. By that time it will be winter and I will move to going to the gym again instead of doing sprints and work on my leg strength in the gym from then on.
I expect that I will be stiff in the morning so I will just go for a walk up the 2 tunnels first thing and then ride the DMR to the office as it will most likely be the last time that I ride it 🙂
Monday 21st July 2025
Weight = 103 kgs
Steps = Steps
This morning I woke up at 4:45 without an alarm and got up and did my weigh-in and I was up 0.1 kgs to 103 kgs which is not so bad considering I ate loads of carbs, had a redbull and had a chicken burger and chips for tea 🙂 I then ate some protein and had my NMN and Creatine and then got dressed and went for my morning walk to get the 30/30/30 done for the day 🙂
I was feeling surprisingly good this morning which is not what I expected at all so I’m stoked that I’m not hurting although the DOMS will most likely kick in tomorrow 🙁 The massage gun started working last night after its bath in the rain yesterday but the battery ran out when I tried to use it so I left it charging last night and will start using it this afternoon when I am back from the office. The walk was really chill and I took it easy as my fitbit has been telling me for about a week that I need a rest day so I thought that I would listen and not push it today 🙂
When I got home I showered and got dressed and rode the DMR to the office! I severely misjudged the steepness of the seat so it was impossible to sit on so I slammed it and rode standing up all the way which surprisingly was not that bad 🙂
By the time I got into the office I was on 6196 steps for the day so well on the way to 10000 steps again today for my 8th day in a row walking 10000 steps or more 🙂 The week of walking has definitely helped to sort my back out again and I am not walking like I have pooped my pants this morning which I usually am on a Monday Morning after a weekend of riding so that’s a definite reason to keep it up from now on as its not a massive change to my life to walk first thing and then walk in the evening to make sure that I get to 10000 steps especially at the moment when its light and sunny for both walks 🙂 It’s a bit of a different story in the winter when its pitch black and raining for both walks but we will deal with that when that time comes 🙂 For now I am enjoying the summer while we still have it 🙂
So in my break between my usual shift and on call I broke down the DMR and cleaned all the parts ready for the new frame to arrive tomorrow hopefully as I got an email with tracking to say it was send 24hr delivery so fingers crossed.
I then did my on call and I didn’t have to walk again tonight as I was already over 10000 when my on call started 🙂 I have just made my burgers for the next couple of days breakfasts and out them in the fridge ready to re-heat tomorrow first thing!
I am not going to be able to do sprints tomorrow morning as I have to go pick my brother’s dog up at about 7 am and bring him back to mine for the morning then walk him at lunch time and then head over to my parents house once the frame arrives 🙂
Tuesday 22nd July 2025
Weight = 104.1 kgs
Steps = 7208 Steps
So this morning I woke up at 5:00 with my alarm and did my weigh-in and was surprised that I was not aching at all 🙂 Result! I then got up and did my weigh in and got a shock as I had put on 1.1 kgs from yesterday 🙁
I then got showered and dressed then did some work and then went to my brother’s house and picked up the dog and drove home. I then worked a bit more then popped out for a bit of a walk then went back to work.
Just before lunch my S&M Big Jumper and 2 x 26 x 2.10 Tioga PowerBlocks arrived so at lunch time I built up the bike 🙂
I am really happy how the bike built up and feels but I have to wait until the disk brake adapter arrives before I can properly ride it 🙁
At about 4 pm my Body Armour and the mech hanger for the DMR arrived too so I packed up and we headed to my parents house to chill for a bit. At about 6pm my mum and myself took the dogs for a walk and then I headed over to my brothers house to sleep there.
By the end of the day I got to 7208 Steps! So unfortunately today was the day that broke my streak of 8 consecutive days walking over 10000 steps 🙁
Wednesday 23rd July 2025
Weight = Forgot to weigh-in
Steps = 10565 Steps
This morning I woke up with my alarm, got dressed, grabbed the dog and headed back to Bath. We stopped off at the track and I walked the dog all around the track and playing fields then headed home to start work. When I checked my FitBit when I got home I was on 4114 steps so although walking at the track seems like a long way it is actually not that far so tomorrow I think we will have to do 2 loops to get more steps in! However when I looked at my daily summary I noticed that my daily readiness was 100% ready so the rest day yesterday seems to have helped as my readiness was at 69 yesterday and 78 on Monday so 100 is much better 🙂 Last week my highest readiness score was 76 and my lowest was 55 so I am much more ready this week 🙂 Funnily enough I am feeling more relaxed today so maybe I should listen to the FitBit more 🙂
I am now working until lunchtime when I will take the dog out for another walk.
So this morning my rucking rucksack arrived and the 9kg weight into the rucksack so now it has a home and is not just knocking around the lounge waiting for me to put it in my work rucksack.
At lunch we walked with my son to town as he had to work and then the dog and myself walked home along the river and then chilled for the rest of my lunch break.
After work we again chilled then about 18:00 we headed back to my brothers and I fed the dog and then chilled until about 20:00 when the dog put himself to bed so I went to bed as well and chilled on my phone until about 21:00 when I went to sleep.
By the end of the say I had done 10565 Steps so over 10000 steps again today 🙂
Thursday 24th July 2025
Weight = 103.8kgs
Steps = 17447 Steps
So this morning I woke up with my alarm at 5:00, got up and dressed and got the dog’s food and bowls packed and then I let the dog out of his crate and then we headed to the track for a walk. When we got to the car we headed home. I gave the dog his breakfast and I did some work, then I had a shower and got dressed and then got my access cards and my weighted rucksack and the dog and we walked into the office. When I got to the office I grabbed the backup USB and then we headed home again. By the time we got home I was on 108509 steps for the day so we can chill for the rest of the day 🙂
The new Rucksack is amazing! It holds the weight really securely and the straps sit exactly where they need too so there was no need for the strap between the straps to be closed even! This was lucky because the strap basically rubs on my throat so is really uncomfortable! I am just trying to move the strap lower at the moment so it can be used. So one side of the strap was put on too high so I have rectified that so I can use the strap as well tomorrow 🙂
At about 17:30 the dog and myself loaded my Pro Dialled onto the car and went to the track and setup for gates which was a bit of an ordeal as the battery had died on the generator then someone had also flipped a switch on the generator which meant that when it was running there was no power going to the power board that the gate stuff is connected to 🙁 I finally got it working and then while people were doing gates I took the dog for another walk around the track. When I got back I took the Dialled off of the car and stuck it in the container where is is going to live a a club bike.
I also grabbed the StayStrong V4 Cruiser frame that I am buying and the Avian StayStrong forks that I am buying too. As part of the price of buying the frame I am going to transfer the parts currently on the frame to their old StayStong Power complete frame which is where most of the parts come from.
I had forgotten that the frame was in my favorite color way of black and grey so I am chuffed with that 🙂
Once we had packed up I loaded the StayStrong onto the car and we headed to my brother’s house for the night.
By the end of the day I had done an amazing 17447 steps with about 8000 of those steps being weighted too 🙂
Friday 25th July 2025
Weight = No weigh-in again 🙁
Steps = 10292 Steps
This morning I woke up at 5:00 with my alarm again and loaded the StayStrong onto the car, got the dog into the car and headed to my house where I dropped off the StayStrong bike and frame and the forks and grabbed the S&M Big Jumper and took it and the dog to the track for a play! The dog made a really good trail dog and loved running after me on the track and didn’t really get in the way either which is much better than my dog who was useless as a trail dog as she almost killed up both a few times before I gave up trying to train her as a trail dog 🙂 She didn’t really like it either as she got stressed with being left behind so it was for the best 🙂
The S&M big Jumper rode amazingly well! Really like a BMX which is what I hoped for really 🙂 I need to cut the seat post off a little bit as its too high and the curved seat tube means that I can’t get it any lower with the length that it is at the moment. Other than that it felt really good and I can’t wait to ride it more 🙂 I think it will be really good at the pump track too which I want to test out tomorrow first thing 🙂 After about 30 minute and losing the dogs ball in the brambles we headed back to the car and headed home.
I started breaking down the StayStrong and building up the StayStrong Power to get it build up and out of the flat ASAP. I have found that the seat tube on the StayStrong is fatter so I will have to get a new seat post to swap the seat onto and put a different seat clamp on there too as I will need to keep the ones that are on there now!
I gave up building the bikes as the cone is still well and truly stuck in the disk brake adapter so I am going to have to cut the brake adapter off I think 🙁 I bought a new one from The Source this evening so that I can build up the V4 while I figure out the issue with cone in the other one.
In the afternoon after work I chilled and watched as film with the dog then about 7pm we went for a walk to get to 10000 steps before heading back to my brother’s house for the night! I think the dog was tired as he went straight to bed when we got in the house 🙂 I took the lead from him and did the same 🙂
Saturday 26th July 2025
Weight = 104 kgs
Steps = 5398 Steps
This morning I woke up with my alarm at 5:00 and went back to sleep until 6:00 when I got up and loaded the bike and dog into the car and we headed to the track again for a bit of a play. At about 6:50 we headed back to the house and gave the dog his breakfast and then we chilled in bed for a bit. At about 9:00 I remembered that I hadn’t done a weigh-in but i had already drunk a bottle of water and taken my NMN by then so the weight will be a bit higher but I weighed 104kgs this morning so I am still 1.1 kgs heavier than I was on Sunday but I have lost 0.1 kgs from my heaviest day this week so not all bad!
This week I really need to focus on my diet as its getting pretty bad again 🙁 Once my brother is back and I can get back in my routine again I am going to get back to eating first thing and walking/ rucking in the mornings and then riding the bike at lunch time and walking again and doing some body-weight exercises in the evenings to try and build my muscle endurance up again as Sunday showed that my legs only have 1/2 a lap max in them at the moment!
Today I am going sort out all my bikes and get them all online to sell as I really need to get rid of them and get some cash coming in to get my finances in a better state too! I also need to urgently sort the seat out on the S&M as I really need to slam it as at the moment every time I try and squash to do a manual my leg hits the seat and it messes me up! I expect once I get the seat out of the way the back wheel will be the next issue but we will see I guess! Yesterday I cut of a good 2″ off of the seat post but it doesn’t seem to go any lower which is a bit weird!
I have just done some testing and the Box seat on the right as you look at the photo will fully slam the seat where as the S&M seatpost which is short will not slam so I think that the S&M seat may get wider towards the top of the post which is stopping it from dropping the seat to a fully slammed position 🙁
I am going to go to the garage and get the Dialled and Standard bikes in soon to see if I can get the seat off of one of them to slam fully or not then I will swap the seat post over.
So I tested another seat post and it slammed so the issue is the S&M seat post so I will use the other one and I have put the S&M one on another bike already 🙂
So I have bought all of the parts and tools that I need to get the StayStrong V4 up and running so once they all arrive it will be ready to go. I will have to wait for the Disk Brake Adapter to arrive anyway so it will be going in the Garage until all the bits arrive. I need to take the chain tensioner bolts out and re-grease them as they are starting to get a bit rusy so need doing. As I am going to ride it over the winter for gates and sprints and it will live in the car for the winter. I have decided to run it with a 41 x 18 gearing for now to see how that goes as I have the bits to run that here 🙂 I will swap out the steel forks off of my Curtis and put the Avian StayStrong Carbon Forks on the Curtis as they are posh and new 🙂 I will also take the brake off too as I will get a XTR brake at some point over the winter to go back on the Curtis. I want to get a set of Onyx Ultra SS Hubs on Avian Carbon Rims built up for the Curtis at some point as I want to try Carbon Rims out on it. It woll also piss some people off which is always nice. I also want to get a set of Beringer Ultralight E2 Elite Cranks over the winter too as they are supposed to be really good too then the Curtis will be all done and dusted!
I have just checked the parts bin and I don’t have an 18t Profile Elite cog so I will have to take the 37t Renan Chain ring off of the Curtis too and find a new one for the Curtis when I get some money!
At about 18:30 I got the dog into the car and we went to the track and walked for a bit then headed to my Brother’s house and chilled until the dog put himself to bed about 20:30 so I went to bed too.
We had a chilled day today and I only got 5398 steps in all day somehow?
