Sunday 13th July 2025
Weight = 103.6 kgs
Steps = 8271 Steps
This morning I woke up at 5:00 feeling fighting fit and raring to go after a 49 hour fast that I broke last night to fuel up ready for this morning’s Bristol session. I got ready and headed to Patchway and got a good hour in and even managed a 3/4 lap of the track and multiple 1st, 2nd and 3rd straight efforts although the 3rd straight was a nightmare as the position of the sun meant that you were blind halfway down the straight which was a bit dodgy to say the least! I did get a lot of really smooth 1st and second straights so I was happy with that and it wasn’t too hot by the time I left 🙂 I also got rid of a bag of rubbish from around the track too!
I then headed to bath where I started doing 3rd and 4th straights but then got invited to go to Cardiff track for the open session from 11:00-14:00 so I packed up and went home and ate and showered and changed and headed off to Cardiff. The session at Cardiff was really chill and fun I just did gates and 1st straights as my legs were really heavy from the other 2 sessions 🙂 The stairs to the start hill were also killer so I deffo got a work out in today 🙂 I got some really good tips on my gate too about rolling my shoulders back and I will keep practicing it at gates and when doing sprints too to make the habit permanent!
At just after 14:00 I headed home and then showered and my son arrived so we headed to my parents to swap over cars and have a roast dinner 🙂 A perfect end to a perfect day 🙂
I am much happier riding the bike with the 175mm DXR cranks compared to the 172.5mm Avian cranks as they just fell right! My knee felt fine on them too so I will keep them on the Curtis at least! I will probably train on the 172.5 mm cranks to reduce the rislk of messing up my knee. My wrist was also fine going back to the 1.75 Tioga Fastr X instead of the 2.10 Power Block that I have been using!
By the end of the day I was on a not too shabby 8271 steps which is pretty good as I didn’t do any walking other than at the track or around the house!
Monday 14th July 2025
Weight = 103.3 kgs
Steps = 11539 Steps
I woke up with my alarm at 5:00 and decided to rest and sleep a bit more instead of doing sprints as I had planned. At 6:00 I woke up and did my weigh-in and i was surprised that I down another 0.3 kgs but not that surprised as I did a lot of BMX riding yesterday 🙂 I then showered and got dressed then did my morning work chores until about 6:45 when I walked into the office. I worked in the office until 11:30 is then walked home via the supermarket to pick up a couple of rib eye steaks and some potatoes to make saute potatoes for my son for lunch!
By the time I got home from the supermarket I was on 10206 steps so I can chill for the rest of the day while I work and am on call tonight! By the end of the day I was on 11539 Steps which is pretty good seeing as I was sat working most of the time 🙂
Tuesday 15th July 2025
Weight = 103.7 kgs
Steps = 11357 Steps
This morning I woke up with my alarm at 5:00 but i was super tired again as I didn’t finish work until 22:30 so it was gone midnight when I went to sleep and I woke up a couple times in the night needing the toilet as well. I reset my alarm to 6:00 and went back to sleep. I decided to do my sprints at the track this afternoon as I am on a 1/2 day today due to the on call last night! At 6:00 I woke up and did my weigh-in which was up a bit at 103.7 kgs (0.4 kgs up from yesterday) but that was to be expected as I ate a lot yesterday to recover and drank a lot of water too. I am hoping that I am building extra muscle too.
I then remembered that it was pay day so I paid off my late credit card bill, entered the Bristol Regional on Sunday and also bought a new G-Form compression shirt and a DMR Sect Mech Hanger for my Jump bike in case I decide to fully convert it to a 4x bike at some point 🙂 Both were on sale so I figured that I may as well get them now. I loved my old G-Form compression shirt but I had to bin it last month as the padding had all gone hard and broken off so it was basically a t-shirt and offered no protection any more.
I will look at getting some elbow and knee pads when my shares money get into my account next week then I can protect all of my vulnerable pointy bits too as they are usually the first thing to hit the floor in a crash 🙂
At lunch time I got to the track about 12:30 and setup my box and used the other box a a marker got my distance line as I forgot my cones! I then did 6 x 25 m alternating sprints with 3 minutes rest and then rested 5 minutes and did 6 x 50 m alternating leg sprints with 3 minutes rest. Once I had finished my sprints I took the box onto the top of the start hill and did 10 box starts to full speed first straights jumping onto the step-up tabletop on the start of the second straight to get used to going through the motion of jumping at speed. I have really got the timing back for pumping into the jump to make the manuals faster and cleaner and I did some of the best manuals that I have probably ever done today which is nice. I then did a pump lap to finish off and cool down and then headed home to massage my legs so that I can hopefully ride again tomorrow!
While I was at the track I got the message that the seller that I put a low bid into for a size large G-Form compression shirt accepted the offer so I will now have 2 of them! Although I think that it will be a while until the Large one will fit but we will see!
About 5 pm I walked my son home and got my steps in then put all the washing away and did the washing up and cleaned the flat a bit. I then chilled until 22:00 and went to bed. By the end of the day I was on 11357 Steps for the day!
Wednesday 16th July 2025
Weight = 105.0 kgs
Steps = 12510 Steps
This morning I woke up with my alarm at 5:00 and got straight up and did my weigh-in and i was surprised to see that I was back up to 105 kgs (Up 1.3 kgs from yesterday!!!!) I guess that this is partly from having takeout again and partly from gains from training too hopefully!
I showered and then went back to bed and almost talked myself into lunching out my walk but I talked myself back into going and got dressed and left at about 5:30. I did my usual up hill loop and then walked through the park and back along the 2 tunnels home. It reminded me that I need to get my jump bike back to have a play on the jumps in the park too 🙂 I felt so much better when I got home that it reminded me how I need to focus on walking every day as it really does help!
By the time I got home I was on 6014 steps so I am over half way to my 10000 step goal for the day 🙂
I think going forwards I will make sure that I walk at least this route Every day other than Monday and Friday as I will be doing sprints.
I t was lucky that I didn’t go to gates as the online thing I had took ages and would have been a nightmare on the phone so once it was done I chilled for a bit then at 20:00 ish I went for a walk as I was only on 7000 steps. By the time I got back I was feeling way more relaxed and I was on 12287 steps too 🙂
I am going to chill for a bit longer then head to bed about 21:30 so I am nice and rested for sprints in the morning 🙂 By the end of the day I was on 12510 Steps for the day 🙂
Thursday 17th July 2025
Weight = 104.9 kgs
Steps = 11690 Steps
So i struggled to sleep last night as the neighbors were banging about and it was hot too so it was way past 23:00 by the time I finally got to sleep so it made it harder to get up this morning when my alarm went off at 5:00. I got up about 5:10 and did my weigh-in and I was down 0.1 kgs from yesterday but I have deffo burnt a lot of fat which is the important thing!
I then showered and got dressed and went for a walk on my 2 tunnels route as I figure I may as well use it while I can as it will be dark in the morning again soon so I will have to walk my hill route again anyway 🙁 I made the mistake of taking a jacket which was definitely not needed! So I ended up having to carry it as it was way too hot to wear it! y the time i got home I was on 5002 steps so just over 1/2 way to my 10000 goal for the day! I am planning to go to the track at lunch time and its gates this evening so I should easily get to 10000 steps today without the need to go for another work this evening!
I am feeling much better for walking yesterday so I am glad that I forced myself to go for a walk in the evening to get over 12000 steps!
I think for the rest of the month I am going to aim to get between 10000 – 12000 steps a day from as much outdoor walking as possible and I need to start wearing the rucksack with the weight in it too. At about 17:00 I ate my last meal and I decided that I was going to fast until Saturday morning to try and kick start eating more cleanly as I had been eating more and more sugar again over the past couple of days!
At 17:30 I headed to the track and setup for gates then sorted all the newbies with bikes and helmets and then got dressed and did some gates. I wasn’t feeling that great so I didn’t push it too much as I wanted to be fresh to go to Bristol in the morning. I still had fun though.
By the end of the day I was on 11690 steps which is not bad going seeing as I only walked in the morning first thing.
Friday 18th July 2025
Weight = 104.7 kgs
Steps = 10835 Steps
This morning I woke up at 5:00 with my alarm and l got up and did my weigh-in and I was down 0.2 kgs to 104.7 kgs but I was feeling a lot less bloated this morning. I then got dressed and packed the car then headed to Bristol BMX Track and rode until about 7:45 when I headed home again.
While I was at the track my shares money hit my account so I bit the bullet and bought a 22″ Top Tube S&M Big Jumper (BJ) frame and 2 26 x 2.10 Tioga PowerBlock tyres as well from Alans BMX. I wanted to make sure that the frame was still available as it is probably the last one in the country in that size so I didn’t want to lose it.
When I was finished riding I headed home and did a big shop to be delivered tomorrow evening and then went in the bath until about 11:30 am.
I am feeling pretty good seeing as I was riding totally fasted and I am still not hungry at all which is good! My plan is to not eat at all today then break my fast at about 5:00 and then head to the new sprint spot in the park and do some downhill sprints to work on my leg speed as I feel like that is pretty much lacking at the moment. I will have to measure and mark the distances as well tomorrow so it could take a bit longer than it normally will but I think I will get more benefit from doing uphill and downhill sprints at the moment! I have decided that until it starts to be too dark in the morning again I will do Downhill sprints on Monday and Thursday Mornings and Uphill Sprints on Tuesday Morning at the new sprint spot and then when it gets too dark I will move to my winter schedule!
I am getting really excited about building up the Big Jumper and I am really hoping that it rides something like a big BMX but if not I can always stick 24″ wheels on it and see if that rides better! My friend who borrowed my DMR is going to give it back on Sunday so I can strip it down ready for the S&M to be delivered which should be early next week which means I can have the BJ built up and rideable before gates this week hopefully 🙂
Last night I went through and worked out the gearing that will work on the BJ and added a wiki post
I have decided that the best gearing for me is a 25 x 12 (54.56) gearing which sits right in between my race Cruiser (54.35) and my Sprints Bike (54.62) so I think that it will be good! . I think that the DMR currently has a 28 x 11 (66.67) gearing on it, which was the gearing that the Airdrop Fade that the wheels and cranks came off of came with. This is way too heavy for me so will need changing! I do have the chain ring, chain and driver for 32 x 16 (52.38) which is about the same gearing as a 36 x 16 on a 24″ BMX which I will most likely use for now until I can get a 25T sprocket and another Halo Driver with a 12t cog at a later date. I will most likely save up and get some Profile BMX Cranks and an outboard bb and I will have to get a new driver and cog for the rear wheel as the cogs are almost impossible to get off once they have been used! I think you can send your driver back to Halo and they will remove it for you so I may do that to save shelling out another £100 on a new driver!
At about 19:30 I went out for a walk on the 2 tunnels route then I went took a detour through the park and around towards Lidl then back onto the 2 tunnels again and then home. I am missing 600 steps to get to 10000 steps so once my washing has finished i will swap over and then go for a walk to get to at least 10000 steps. Walking fully fasted is a bit harder than walking normally but not to much so I just slow a little bit and its fine so I will make sue that I walk every time that I am fasting from now on! While walking I decided that I will do a 36 hour fast every Thursday afternoon to Saturday morning as it has been super easy today and I think it will really help me to not eat so badly going forwards.
I have decided to not do sprints tomorrow so that I can be fresh for gates tomorrow afternoon. I will instead go for a walk and measure out my sprint distances and then get most of my steps in first thing. I am going to mark 5 x 25 m intervals so that I have options to do 25 m, 50 m, 75 m, 100 m and 125 m sprints up and down the hill as I decide I want to do.
At 21:00 I got off the computer and started putting the washing away and tidying up and I managed to get over 10000 steps without the need to go out walking again 🙂 From tomorrow I am going to start priming every day so that I eat 3 meals a day (Carnivore meals only) to try and get my body used to having regular meals again to try and kick start fat loss again. I will start by eating cold burger patties at 5:00 when I get up to try and get 30g of protein 30 minutes after waking, I will then eat again at 11:00 so that I am fueled ready to ride my bike at 12:00 and then I will eat my last meal around 5pm then I will fast for 12 hours until my next meal at 5:00 the next morning. I have just made a couple of burgers and cut cheese ready as well so all I need to do in the morning is put the burger in the air fryer to reheat for 4 minutes and then melt some cheese and eat it 🙂 I have also cleaned up and washed everything up so the kitchen is all ready to go tomorrow.
By the end of the day I was on 10835 Steps.
Saturday 19th July 2025
Weight = 103.5 kgs
Steps = Steps
This morning I woke up at 4:45 without an alarm so I got up and did my weigh-in and I was down 1.8 kgs from fasting for 36 hours so it was definitely worth doing and I will deffo do it every Thursday/ Friday. Although I have lost weight I am only 0.1 kgs down from the start of the week so the weight I lost was mostly weight gained during the week but its still weight loss 🙂 I then re-heated my burger and melted some cheese on it as well and then got dressed and went for my morning walk to complete the 30/30/30 diet for the day 🙂 I walked along the 2 tunnels to Bloomfield Open Space where I measured out my sprint distances ready to start sprinting next week. With 125m marked out there is still a good 50m run off after to slow down again so that should be plenty to stop and there is more run off down the alleyway but its really rough and is basically a lake in the winter as it floods and stays flooded all the time so I will try and avoid that at all cost! I then took a walk to the jumps in Brickfields Park just behind my house and it looks like someone has been doing a bit of digging as the lips look slightly less bad than they used to so they may well be OK to ride. Once I get the S&M I’ll have a play on them and see if they work or not. If they do it will be an amazing training facility as it is literally less than 5 minutes from my house 🙂 By the time I got home I was on 6550 steps so a fair chunk of my steps are done for the day.
I am now chilling until about 1pm when I will head to Bristol for gates at 14:00. The L Body Armour is supposed to be arriving between 8:50 and 12:30 so I should have it before I leave for gates so I may use it to see if it fits or not!
So in the end I decided to stay home and rest my legs and use the massage gun to get rid of the soreness instead of going to gates at Bristol! It turned out to be a good idea as I had Diarrhea about the time gates was about to start so bullet dodged and I will be fresher tomorrow too!
I am now waiting for my shopping to be delivered between 19:30-20:30 then I will go for a walk to get my last 2300 steps done so I get to 10000 steps again and get my 10000 steps a day streak up to 6 days in a row which will be the first time in a long time!
So the shopping arrived just after 20:00 so I packed it all away and then I only had about 1000 steps left to do so I went for the shortest walk ever then then headed home as I didn’t want to do too much as I have a big day tomorrow racing!
