Week 19 – 4th May – 10th May 2025

Sunday 4th May 2025

Weight = 104.1 kgs

Steps = 7480 Steps

So this morning I woke up when I woke up which again was about 7:30 ish and I got up and I was back up to 104.1 kgs so I started the week putting on 0.4 kgs from eating badly yesterday! Worse than the weight gain was the fact that my stomach feels really off again today too 🙁 This gets me back in the carnivore mind set as I feel so much better not eating carbs so I am using my lapse yesterday as a wake-up call to get back to eating clean again!

I am also really sore from the sprints yesterday so I am having a rest day today so that I am ready to start the gym tomorrow morning first thing! This week I am going to do the following exercise on the following days:

Monday – Gym

Tuesday – Sprints

Wednesday – Gates Andover

Thursday – Gates Bath

Friday – Gym

Saturday – Sprints

Sunday – Rest

I will also walk/ Ruck in the mornings Monday – Friday and try and get 10000 steps in every day but not worry as much at the weekends as I do during the week as I want to build a routine that I can be consistent with for the long run. As I am setting one exercise goal a day it should be easier to achieve than my other plans of basically doing 3 activities as day and my goal for the next month is to get my one exercise goal done every day that they are planned.

Monday 5th May 2025

Weight = 104.1 kgs

Steps = 8673 Steps

So I woke up about 7 am so decided to go to Little Stoke instead of the gym so I got up and did my weigh-in (still 104.1 kgs the same as yesterday!) then showered and got dress. When I pushed the Dialled to the door there was something rubbing so I checked it out and it was the tyre rubbing on the top of the rear triangle 🙁  I decided to take the Curtis instead and go to Patchway instead of Little Stoke as the Curtis had clip-less pedals so is more suited to Patchway.

I had a really good session at Patchway once I had cleared all the stones off of the track that the little shits had put down as booby traps to try and take someone out! The 37 x 16 gearing felt a lot faster than the 36 x 16 as well but I guess that we will find out if it is actually any faster on Wednesday when I do timed gates 🙂

I think that I will probably break down the Dialled and sell it and the StayStrong and all of the parts and then get my other Curtis back from my friend and use that as my training/ Pump track bike and keep the Curtis for gates, sprints and racing,

I am planning on doing my first gym session this Friday as I have way more time to get home as I start at 7:30 instead of 6:30 like every other day. This will give me enough time to get a good idea of how I can fit the session in on Monday’s as well from next week.

Tuesday 6th May 2025

Weight = 104.5 kgs

Steps = 10313 Steps

This morning I woke up at 4:30 am thinking about what I had to do at work today following on from the weekend migration woes. I searched some stuff on the internet and then at 4:45 I got up and did my weigh-in. I am up to 104.5 kgs this morning mainly due to not walking too much and also eating takeout last night again 🙁 My stomach is feeling really rubbish this morning too and my breathing is not so great either so its time to stop with the takeout and get back to walking and eating right again!

At 5:20 I got dressed from the shower and then got the weight vest on then headed out for my morning ruck on my up hill route. I was super surprised at how much easier the ruck was compared to how it was the last time that I did it and it was almost enjoyable 🙂 The fact that it was light helped too I think 🙂 The ruck was really enjoyable and on the way back I took the long way home too 🙂

By the time I got home I was on 6722 steps so well over 1/2 way to my 10000 steps for the day. I think when i do sprints at lunch time I should get to 10000 steps easily as I need to mark out my sprint area again so that I sprint towards the track again before doing my sprints session.

So I loaded the bike into the car at 13:00 and drove to the track and got my sprints session in. I did 6 x 25 m and 6 x 50 m sprints in with 3 minutes in between reps and sets. I felt really good again today and I didn’t really notice the change in gearing so hopefully that means that I can get a pb tomorrow at gates 🙂

Wednesday 7th May 2025

Weight = 105.9  kgs

Steps = 5587 Steps

I slept in this morning as I was being lazy and I knew that I had gates today as my main focus so I got up just in time to start work. I also didn’t do anything at lunch time as I drove to my parents house so that it was easier to drive to my friends house after work to get a lift to gates.

So gates was really good although there was a headwind today that made it slower than last week so it is hard to say if the 37 x 16 or the 36 x 16 is better. My snap was the same if not better and I was closer to the fast people than I was last week so I think I will stay on 37 x 16 for a while. My fastest time today was was only 2.534 seconds which is a lot slower than last weeks time of 2.496 seconds. My average time was also down from 2.509 last week to 2.535 seconds today! Looking back I was still faster than the week before last so not so bad!

As you can see from the table today was my second fastest times so far so not too bad. I think when I get a night without a headwind I should be able to get a new PB and get down to the low 2.4’s where I need to be.

Thursday 8th May 2025

Weight = 105.4 kgs

Steps = 9835 Steps

I didn’t get up and walk again this morning as I was really tired from getting back late from gates so I slept in again. I did my weigh-in and I was down 0.5 kgs to 105.4 kgs this morning BUT I am still 1.3 kgs heavier than I was on Sunday and 1.7 kgs heavier than I was at my lightest so fat last Friday 🙁 Just shows how eating wrong makes you put on weight!

In the evening I had to head straight from work to the track to set up for the club race so I was weak and got chicken burger and chips from Deliveroo so my no takeout streak got broken again but it was only 3 days this time!

I almost got to 10000 steps today due to all the walking setting up and packing up from the race so a lot better than normal this week BUT still 165 steps short!

Friday 9th May 2025

Weight = 105.4 kgs

Steps = 2582 Steps

This morning I got up at 5 am and did my weigh in and I was the same weight a yesterday which wasn’t bad but not great either! I then got depressed and went back to bed until 7:30 when I started work. I then worked through until after 16:30 so I got takeout again 🙁

After I ate I got the Dialled sorted with a 24 x 1.75 tyre on the back and I out the 24  x 2.10 that was on it on the front wheel and then swapped that wheel with my Curtis front wheel as the wheel on the Dialled had a Sun Envy rim and the one on the Curtis had a Halo so a bit heavier. and it matches with the rear wheel on the Curtis. I then put the Curtis on the wall in my bedroom out of the way as I want to test the Dialled tomorrow.

I then went to bed and chilled until 10 pm when I went to sleep!

Saturday 10th May 2025

Weight = Forgot to do a weigh in

This morning I got woken up at 4:15 by one of my skateboards falling off of the wall which scared the crap out of me as I thought someone was trying to break into the flat! I chilled until 5:00 then got showered and dressed and packed the Dialled into the car and headed to the track to do sprints and play a bit on the Dialled.

I got 6 x 25 m and 6 x 50 m sprints in as planned then I did some 3rd and 4th straights to see how the Dialled rides and I have to say I don’t like it as much as the Curtis or my Standard. So when I got home I built up the Standard 125R 24″ so that I can use it as my container/ sprints bike so I can walk up to the track without having to push a bike up the mountain when I go!

WhatsApp Image 2025 05 10 at 10.37.33 1 I am just building up the Dialled so that my Son can use it when I start dragging him out to ride on Sunday mornings again (Starting tomorrow morning!).

I have set up the Standard with a 41 x 18 gearing so with the 24 x 1.75 tyre that will have a roll out of 54.70 compared to the 54.35 roll out on the Curtis with a 24 x 1.60 tyre and 37 x 16 gearing! So the gearing is as close as can be really. The bike also has the same bars and stem too so it should feel pretty similar until I get the other Curtis back then I can build up 2 almost identical bikes up.

I have built the Dialled up with a 42 x 18 gearing and 175 mm DXR cranks and put on the Cult forks so that I can run the Profile Mini front wheel that goes with the rear wheel. The Dialled has a roll out of 56.04 with the 24 x 1.75 Power Block on it so I can also use it for over gear sprints when I want to do that 🙂 My son prefers a harder gearing anyway so it will be fine! I may also ride the Dialled to work when I feel like riding to work as well!
