This evening I went to Andover and did gates again. I took the Curtis and was pretty consistent with my gates and got a bunch of 2.5xx times and I was 0.002 off of a pb again which is not bad.
Although I didn’t have my best time today I got 15 sprints in during the session and felt good on all of them and also got my best 3 times split time of 2.549 so I was average at best but I was consistently average 🙂 I felt like I could do with a little bit harder gearing so I will try swapping my gearing to 37 x 16 and see if that helps at all as I was with the fast guys until about my 4th pedal and they found another gear and I didn’t which also shows that I need to start doing sprints too! I really like the Curtis way more than all my other bikes so I am going to sell everything else and just keep the Curtis.
Before I change the gearing I am going to see what difference the Onyx hub makes so I have bought a new Onyx rear cog so that I can use my Onyx rear wheel next week and see if that improves anything.
I am really feeling the benefits of being consistent with going to Andover this month so I am going to make it a focus to go every Wednesday from now on. I can also feel the benefits of the creatine and also changing my diet too as I am getting way less tired now and the lack of Asthma is a real game changer! I just need to start back in the gym and doing sprints consistently and I should be good to get into the 2.4xx pretty soon.
Friday 25th April 2025
I basically worked all day today so no Lunch Club for me today! I did however finish early and drive over to TF Tuned after work and pick up my forks that had been serviced, lowered to 80 mm and setup for my weight as well.
This evening I have fitted the forks to the bike and they feel a lot better on the bike than the 95 mm Pikes do so finger crossed they ride as well.
The front of the bike sits a lot lower now so I am hoping that the bike feels a bit more like a BMX now.
I will go somewhere in the morning and test the bike out and see.
