Woke up at 5 am with my alarm and even though my neck/ shoulder were sore I got up, did my weigh-in (Up to 106.5 kgs this morning) showered and then got dressed and did some work then walked into the office to grab the backup USB drive then walked back again. When I got home I put the recycling out then started work again. By the time I sat down I was on 7424 steps so more steps than I manged all day yesterday already and its not 7 am!
I am heading up to the track at lunch time and I think I will take the BlackMarket to try it out and probably ride the StayStrong as well and get it back from the container. I am just getting the BlackMarket down off of the rack to sort out the handlebar alignment as it was well off when I rode it to work the other day and almost crashed a couple of times because of it! To be honest it may be the bars are bent as I think that they are the bars that I crashed really badly on a couple of years ago!
I will align the stem properly and I guess we will find out if it is the bars at lunch time! I have another set of bars that came with the frame when I bought it so I have put them in the car just in case the bars on the bike are bent! I’m also putting bigger grips on it to try and pad out my wrist a bit too. It has 24 x 2.10 tyres on it so it should add a bit more suspension too and I am running the tyres with 1/2 as much air as normal too so it should be better. It will also be better for learning to jump a bit better too The other option is to just put BMX forks on it and run it with BMX Cruiser bars on it too to see if it feels better as well
I have just bought a set of 4″ ride BMX style 2 piece bars by Fairdale from Source BMX so I can make the bike feel like a BMX while running Jump bike forks so it should be the best of both worlds!
The bars also give it more of a retro look too which I kind of like
I will ride the bike this lunch time and start working on jumping now to try and get comfortable for when the bars arrive then I can ride the jump bike all the time and I can leave it in the container at the track to get it out of the flat
I have put the blue bars on the bike already as they are at least straight so they will do until the new bars arrive then I will stick them on an leave them on from now on.
I am going to get all body armoured up this lunch time with hip pads, knee and shin pads and full body armour and see if I can sack up to jump some stuff dressed as the Michelin man
