Got back from my walk early as I had to cut the walk short due to stomach issues! So I did a bit of blogging and then got on with fitting the new cranks to my bike.
The cranks were bought from CrucialBMX and as always they went above and beyond to get me my stuff after I had planned to pick up in store but didn’t get a chance.
The cranks are Promax CF-2 Cranks 170mm in Silver:
The cranks were £99.95 with a bottom bracket which is really good value and I was surprised at the quality of the cranks for the price. They are not up to the quality of the DXR’s but they are still pretty good. As I said before the cranks were actually for my Son’s FTB cruiser build but I thought that I would try them first to see if the length works for me or not and if they do I will see about getting some DXR’s for me to use long term. I am going to grab my saint 175mm’s off of my 4x bike when I go to my parents house tomorrow so I can use them if the 170mm’s feel too wrong until I can get my DXR’s back off of my friend. I am looking out for some 172.5mm cranks as well as I think that they will be the ideal length for me but not many
The crank swap was pretty straight forwards and I am pretty happy how they look although it doesn’t really matter as they are only temporary to test the length but still they look pretty good none the less:
I am on my way to the track now to test out the cranks and I am going to do the same session as yesterday to test the difference between the 170mm and the 180mm.
In the end I didn’t get a chance to go to the track today so I am going to go straight after my walk in the morning and try out the bike with the new cranks.
