Thinking about next year

This morning I woke up at 4:45 without an alarm and got up and did my weigh-in and I was back up to 109.9kgs even though I am feeling much thinner after 2 days of riding to the office and back and making my 12000 steps a day too.

This got me thinking and I am going to keep this routine going next year adding the gym too. So from Monday I plan to start getting up at 4:45 riding to the gym, working out then riding home showering and then heading to the office and working in the office all morning then heading home at 11:30 to be ready to head to the track for 12:00.

Doing this consistently should get my weight in check over time and also making my life more simple going forwards as I will be doing the same thing every day so no need to think about what I’m doing.

While I was up this morning I got thinking about how my life is at the moment and what is stressing my other than all the bikes I have and the main sources of stress at the moment are keeping the flat clean and all the condensation in the car every time I need to use it! My current plate rack is also pretty annoying too. So I went on Amazon and bought a cordless hoover, portable dehumidifier and new plate rack to reduce my stress!

The idea behind the cordless vacuum is to have it to hand and just run it over the flat whenever I see dirt on the floor so that the flat is always clean like I would normally do with a brush now. The cordless vacuum will also make cleaning at my parents house easier as well which is a bonus. I bought an Amazon basics vacuum for now to see if it is better and if it is I will then look at getting a more expensive one if it helps. The dehumidifier that I got to sort the car will also be used in my bedroom so it will earn it’s keep and not just be left in a cupboard until it’s needed in the car.

The plate rack is basically the same as my current one other than it has a built in drip tray so it will be easier to beep the sink clean as at the moment the draining board has a dent in it so the water pools on it and gets messy which really annoys me. With the drip tray this will not happen and the drip tray can be easily emptied and cleaned which will save time.

I have also decided that I really need a declutter again and to be more ruthless than I have been before and get rid of everything that I don’t use. So once the Container is at the track and up and running and I can get rid of some of the bikes to make space in the garage I will get to work decluttering the Garage first then start on the shed then get to the flat when I am on holiday over my birthday week off from 6-10th Jan.

This weekend my son is staying at his mum’s so I will use the free weekend to get all the bikes broken down and all the unwanted parts on eBay to sell to start to declutter and also get some money back.

I will also test out all my bikes at the pump track to  see which ones I want to keep and get rid of the rest.

At the moment I am thinking that I will get rid of everything other than the Curtis and the Standard OS20 as they are the only 2 bikes that I use anyway. I will also keep the Black Market 24″ jump bike and leave that in the container at the track as my play bike.

I am thinking that the Standard OS20 will be the bike that I ride the most over the winter to keep the Curtis for gates and racing but I will see how it goes as I really love the Curtis so I may sell the OS20 too and just ride the Curtis now that I have the Profile Elite wheel to keep the Onyx wheel for racing.

If I get rid of everything else I may get another Curtis Cruiser frame and build up a Race bike and then have my current bike as my do everything bike with the Profile Elite wheel on and have the new frame built up with the Onyx wheels, Chris King bottom bracket etc and keep that nice. I haven’t decided yet. But I need to get rid of all my other bikes first.

I have decided to have a last chill at home day today as I’m hurting a lot from the last couple of days and I am going to the track at lunch time as it’s finally getting finished today 😁 I also need to get some admin stuff done for work which is harder to do from the office. I also need to get the sack trucks from the container at the track and get them ready to use next week too so it makes sense to stay at home this morning.

At the weekend I will pop over to my parents house and get the ebike and charge it up ready to start using it on Monday. I will also take the MTB and road bike to their house to get them out of the garage for now to clear space.

At lunch time I got to the track and took the OS20 but wished I took the BlackMarket instead to be honest! I have been thinking about the black market and I think I will swap the gearing to 36 x 16 to give it the same gearing as my Curtis other than the 24 x 1.60 tyre on the Curtis compared to the 24 x 2.10 on the BlackMarket! I have an fsa 36t chain ring in the parts box and a 16t Halo sprocket and driver in the parts box too I think so all I need is a chain to get it sorted. I think I may have one in the parts box too. If I do I will take the black market to gates tomorrow afternoon as the track is really soft so is horrible on the race bike anyway!

When I got home from the track I started working and walking and got to just under 10000 steps by the time I finished at 16:00. I then chilled and watched TV until 19:00 when I did my 10 minutes backwards walking on the backwards treadmill and I am now on the normal treadmill getting my last 1000 steps in before I chill for the evening.

The new wrist guard was amazing! Once it was on I didn’t even notice it and I was pain free while riding too which is exactly what I wanted from it so it was money well spent even though it was a lot of money in the first place!

The Tioga PowerBlocks that were supposed to arrive yesterday failed to arrive again today so I am not sure what they are playing at or when they will arrive so I guess we will have to see how it goes with them but I am not sure which bike I will stick them on anyway so its all good. I am thinking that I make the StayStrong a fat tyre race BMX so that I can use it as a race bike but I may also break it down and get it up for sale as well! I will mull it over and play with it tomorrow when I get back from the track! I have just checked and I have a 16t sprocket and Driver for my Halo DJ superdrive hub and a new kmc hl chain and the 36t sprocket so I can do the 36 x 16 drive chain conversion on the Black Market tomorrow and use it for gates tomorrow hopefully 🤞

I finished the day on 12382 steps which is really good seeing I did over 7000 steps in the flat on the treadmill today!
