Think I may have bought a Standard Bykes 125R Cruiser Frame

So the Standard Bykes 125R Cruiser frame and forks that I really wanted to buy a couple of months ago has just come up for sale again and I was given the rest of the cash owing on my Yess that I sold to a friend so I had money so I messaged the sellar and have asked to buy it if he can find a frame box to post it in!

I figure I can then use the Standard built up with most of the parts off of the GT Power series for now and then over time I can get some better wheels and then get a set of my proper BMX Cranks back and then it will be a perfect training/ sprints/ roller bike that will feel similar enough to the Curtis Cruiser that I will not have any issues swapping onto the Curtis to do gates and race when the season starts again. Also I am getting the same frame in OS20 so once that arrives and is built up I can have the 2x Standard Bykes as my training bikes and when I get a Curtis OS20 frame built I can have the 2 Curtis bikes as my race bikes and the 2 Standard Bykes as my training bikes. Also when the Standard OS20 arrives it is going to be too nice to leave in the container so I will use the 125R as my container bike instead and sell the parts that I have for the Chase OS20 Conversion.

Until the Standard is paid and a done deal I will use the GT as my roller bike and my Chase OS20 Conversion as my sprints bike.

I had a rest day today and stayed in bed until 1pm then we went to my parents to swap over the cars and have Sunday lunch and then we took the dog home with me and I did a bit of work and then My Son, myself and the dog walked into my work and I did a bit more work then the dog and myself walked my Son home then we walked back home through the park!

By the time we got home I was on 11729 steps for the day so I will try and get the remaining steps before I go to bed to make up the 12000 steps for the day.

My legs were feeling really heavy today so I am glad that I took a rest day.

Tomorrow I plan to get up at 5am and walk with the dog to the office and back as I have something to check there first thing so I will walk her at the same time and then take her from the office to the park so that she can have a run out then I will start work later as I did an hour or so’s work this afternoon. Then at lunch time I will walk her again so she should be pretty tired out so when she is with my son tomorrow night while I’m riding she will be asleep on the sofa most of the time 🙂

I plan to run the Standard 125R Cruiser with 42×18 for now as I have an 18t Halo Clickster arriving next week and I already have a 42T Sprocket waiting for me to get the cranks off of my Sunday Park bike then I can build it up. I am going to the track tomorrow night so I will try and dig the bike out and bring it home then I can get the GT ready to use. I need to take the tyres off tomorrow and take them to the track as I have swapped them with a friend for Tioga power blocks as I prefer power blocks anyway!

I have been thinking about my winter training and I have remembered that I need to fit road rides in a couple days a week as well so I will fit them in on Thursday as I have the afternoons off and maybe try and get a ride in on Sunday as well to get the 2 in. They will be zone 2 rides anyway so longer rides at a lower intensity to build a fitness base so I will now be doing the following training:

Mon and Thurs = Body weight training (Squats, calf raises, Bulgarian split squats, Press ups all 3 sets of 100)

Thursday Afternoon + Sunday – Road Ride

Tues and Friday = Hitt roller training. (10 x 10 seconds to start increasing by 10 seconds every month until get to 60 seconds)
