Super chill weekend

This weekend I didn’t do much exercise at all! Saturday I woke up at 5:30 and tried to walk with the dog but she refused to walk so we walked for less than 10 minutes total! We then got back chilled for a bit and then woke up my son as we had to go to my parents to drop the dog back and then take my Son for his first ever driving lesson.

I did go to the track to meet up with some friends and did a bit of riding but we did more talking than riding as my legs were really tired still as I did a lot of walking on Friday night as I walked the dog to the track then I pressed the gate button then I had to walk halfway down the hill to meet my son and give him the dog to take home then rush back up the hill to be back in time to start the racing.

After racing I then walked home and by the end of the day I finished up with 12872 steps for the day which was pretty good as I had only done about 600 steps when I left the house at 5pm! \

Saturday I only got 5209 steps in so not the best day for walking!

Today (Sunday) I have been in bed most of the day except for doing the washing up (Twice) and washing clothes so I only managed just over 1000 stepes for the day (1256)

I have been thinking about my morning routine and I am thinking that in the mornings I may ride and push the jump bike to the track and get some training in before work and then ride home when I am done and get ready for work. This will mean that I continue to walk but also start to get more riding on the track in as well so that I can start working on my skills as well in the morning when I have the track to myself. It also means that I can get my riding done early then at Lunch time I can do my weight training then in the evening I can walk some more or if I feel like it I can go back to the track to ride more.

I bought my bike home with me from the container as it is getting really scratched and the container is really full at the moment so it is really hard to get the bike out anyway so its better to bring it with me instead! It also means that I can get home from the track in 10 minutes instead of 30ish minutes walking so when I am not working from the office I can leave the track at 7:15 and still be home in time to start work so I can get well over an hour of training in most mornings. I may start waking up 15 minutes earlier then I can leave the house at 5:30 and be at the track by about 6am hopefully. I will use tomorrow morning as a test session so I can work out timings before I start for real Tuesday morning then I will know how long everything takes. Tomorrow I will pretty much have to walk up and do a short ride and then I will have to leave my about 6:45 as I have to be in the office by 7:30 in the morning so I will need to get home, shower and change in about 15 minutes then it takes another 15 minutes to get to the office on the bike. I have put a longer seatpost and seat on the bike too so that it is easier to ride so I think that I am going to ride the DMR to work as well.

I am thinking that I will ride the DMR as much as possible at the moment so that it feels more natural to ride as it still feels really big at the moment which is not ideal! I think that Wednesday and Friday mornings I will ride to the skatepark and ride there instead as I have Wednesday afternoons off so I spend them at the track anyway so I can walk/ride up there in the afternoons anyway and Friday nights are gate night at the track so I can do the same then too. This will also mean that I can work on my jumping on the driveway in the skatepark and work up to jumping the jump boxes when I can sack up to jump them and that should help with my jumping at the track. I also want to start riding bowls as well as I tried it when I lived in Seattle for a couple of months and really enjoyed it. The skatepark is also pretty good for learning manuals too so I should be able to work on them too. I may also try the dirt jumps in the park behind my house as well in the mornings to see how they are as they are pretty small and overgrown at the moment but if they aren’t too bad they may really help with the jumping as well as there are 3 jumps in a row so I can get way more jumps in a session than at the track.

Hopefully in a few months the pump track at Entry Hill will be finished and I can then ride there every morning before work instead of going all the way to the track every morning.
