Start of 30 day challenge put back

My shoulder and wrist stopped me sleeping again last night so I didn’t wake up and go to the gym as I was super tired still. When I did get up I decided that I am going to get a smart trainer and then use that for the 30 day challenge as it will be harder to not use as it will be setup in my lounge all the time!

On my walk to work I found a used Elite Suito Direct Drive smart Turbo Trainer for sale on Facebook marketplace and put in an offer and I am going to pick it up Wednesday afternoon.

My idea is to subscribe to Zwift and use smart trainer and my bike to start riding for the hour a day in my lunch hour instead of getting up so early in the mornings. I will start work earlier instead so that I can take a longer lunch so that I can get a full workout in before it is time to eat so that I can still workout in a faster state and then eat straight after the workout which is the best way to workout to lose weight apparently.

Also using Zwift will make the exercise more fun as you can race other people or the computer to make the training more enjoyable. It also means that as I get fitter and my injuries heal, I can start to change my training to more HIIT based sessions and mix the training up. The HIIT sessions are way more specific to BMX racing so I want to start doing them as soon as I am physically able to. I will also have to calculate more or less which gearing on the road bike is comparable to my BMX gearing to get a more BMX specific training out of the sessions. I may also try and get a BMX to fit on the Elite Suito to make my HIIT sessions even more BMX specific.

After the 30 day challenge I am going to try and get to the gym twice per week to add weight training as planned and get stronger over the winter and hopefully get less injury prone as well.
