Rest day

Couch Potato

I took today off as my knee was still a little sore and I want it to be ready for the weekend. I have managed to get a spot on the practice session on the Saturday so I will have a lot of riding to do over the weekend.

I am pretty excited about racing as I want to get used to racing on the track before the National in a couple of weeks time so that hopefully I will have a chance of not coming last 🙂

When we did a coaching session a month or so ago I got a pretty quick line on the last straight so I now need to work on the other 3 straights, especially the 1st and 3rd straights as they are pretty tricky especially at speed.

Saturday I will work on getting the first straight as fast and smooth as I can and if I have time I will work on the 2nd and 3rd straights as well then I should be able to do a half decent lap come race day.

I am not really setting any goals results wise just don’t come last and work on trying to get 4 full speed laps on the track before the National weekend. Really I am taking Regionals as endurance training and getting used to the National/ Brits tracks when I can. I am not bothered about regional rankings other than to get me to the Brits so I an relax had have fun instead of stressing about results. I am full expecting the racing to be as hard as a National anyway if the last 2 south races I have attended are anything to compare to so I definitely am not expecting that i make the A final at all.

I am also using the racing to get used to my new bike and also get used to riding the Onyx Wheel again 🙂 I am hoping that the Onyx wheel will make me faster out of the gate so that I can be more competitive and also hoping that it doesn’t make me too fast so that I crash on the first jump!
