Finished work and got ready and went to Bristol for gates. As I got closer to the track the rain got harder and harder until it was basically torrential by the time I arrived.
As I had spent an hour driving there I decided to ride anyway!
It was OK and the gate was super grippy but I wasn’t gating well and I was manualing even worse than I was gating. My first few gates I hit the gate each time so I back off a bit on the snap which made everything else feel sluggish as well. I also noticed the larger tire made it a bit harder to pedal although that could well be due to the wet weather and 2-3kgs of mud on the bike and being soaking wet! When I got home I put my body armour and helmet on raidiaters to dry and dumped all my wet kit and bike in the kitchen to dry off.
The bike is disgusting so will need to be washed and lubed up in my lunch hour tomorrow:
Apart from my gates feeling bad and not being able to manual I felt pretty good, my knees felt fine and I have recovered fully from racing last weekend so all good. It was nice to have the Onyx wheel back on the bike too it feels so much better when setting up on the gate and also the bike free wheels soooo much better than my Profile Elite wheels do at the moment!
