Post shifts weigh-in and back to walking 🙂

After passing out at 9pm last night I woke up at 4:55 this morning without and alarm, so I messes about with my phone until 5:30 then did a weigh in while I was getting ready to go out walking.

I was really surprised to find that I was 105.3kgs which is 0.4kgs less that my weigh in last month and is pretty good seeing that I have been laid up with my back hurting for a week eating crisps and sweets and drinking fizzie drinks!!

Walk

After the weighin I went out and walked in the drizzle for just over an hour. As you can see by the Strava workout summary I actually walked for 1 hour 11 minutes or 4.59 miles.

To my annoyance I remembered that I had left my fitbit to charge about 15 minutes into the walk so I have no real idea how many steps I covered. I went onto a conversion website and it worked out that I did 8759 steps. This seems to be about right so I will use this figure to calculate my total steps tonight.

Writing this has reminded me to go put my fitbit on so I can get a total number of steps tonight!

My back felt weird and hurt a little bit but I was able to walk normally so I am going to start walking every morning now to get back a base of fitness before I start BMX training. I am thinking that I will wait until next month to start the training plan and try and walk every day for the rest of this month. As my back gets stronger I will add the back stretcher and I want to start doing full body stretching too so I will build that up in a week or so and then I should be ready to start my race training plan after that. Once my back feels stronger I will start trying to go out and do manual sessions and light track sessions but I think that I need to stay away from sprints sessions and Full on track training until next month earliest. I man try and work in the Bodyweight training days into my week before next month so that I slowly build up the intensity instead of going from doing nothing to training hard!

After my walk I went back to bed and slept until 11am as I am still recovering from the last set of night shifts! I have now woken up and been sat at the computer for 15 minutes and my back is killing again so I am going back to get for a bit to get rid of the back pain.

I now plan to take it easy for the rest of the day and do the same tomorrow as I did today except maybe walk a bit further this time.

I have also dropped out of running gates at the club on Sunday as it will be too much for my back to handle so I will do the same on Sunday too!
