Picked up my Elite Suito Smart trainer this afternoon

IMG 2311

I was on a half day today so I went and picked up my Elite Suito Smart trainer but I haven’t set it up as I only had 4 hours of sleep last night and my shoulder and wrist aren’t up to riding the bike at the moment, especially after  carrying the Smart Trainer to the car and into the house and getting it out of the box to try and set it up 🙁

I also hurt myself a bit more and got my road bike out of the garage but found that it would not work with the cassette on the trainer as the bike is an 8 speed and the trainer cassette is an 11 speed so tomorrow I will have to go back into the garage and swap road bikes over as the other one is an 11 speed so will work well apart from the fact that it doesn’t have a front derailleur on it but that will not be a major problem as I’m not going to be doing any hard rides on it for a while.

I have to go to the office early in the morning so I will drive down and get my stuff down and then get home and swap the bikes over and try and get the trainer setup before I start work in the morning so that I can try a ride after work tomorrow as I have to work through lunch tomorrow as I have to leave early to go to the hospital for a checkup on my broken finger to see if I can get the splint off and start bending my finger again🤞🏻

Once I get back from the hospital I will got for an hours test ride with the trainer to get me started on my 30 day challenge.

Tomorrow I am just going to use the Elite app and use the trainer as an exercise bike then I will setup Zwift over the weekend and do some rides to see how they are. My only issue with doing Zwift is that I am a bit competitive so I may get a bit carried away which is something that I cant really do without hurting my wrist and shoulder.

This morning as I woke up at 3:30 with my shoulder really hurting I had a quick look on wiggle for road bike shoes and they had a sale on  DHB shoes down from £70 to £35 so I bought a new black pair for me as the cheapie Muddy Fox ones that I bought from Sports Direct a couple of years ago which are a bit too small so make my feet go numb when I ride for more than 45 minutes! The new shoes arrive tomorrow so hopefully they fit so that I can make a concerted effort on my 30 day cycling challenge and start getting fit!
