Peckham Day 2 went OK too

Woke up at 4:30am and couldn’t sleep any more so I messed about on the phone for a couple of hours and then got ready and then packed up the bags and walked back to the track. My feet were really hurting as my new Van were a bit tight and had caused blisters on my little toes which made it really difficult to walk. We arrived at the track just in time for practice so I did a practice lap and then chilled ready for racing. I decided not to bother with changing my gearing as I did OK yesterday so no need to mess.

Motos went OK but my legs were a bit tired and the motos were a bit harder than yesterday as I figured they would be. I was at least 2 seconds a lap slower today too!

My first moto I had gate one which I thought that would be a problem but I got out of the gate really well and did my joint fastest gate of the weekend at 2.808 seconds but my lap time was 43.879 seconds but I got a 4th so pretty good. I was up with the quick guys for the first 2 straights too which I was happy with!

Moto 2 was way harder as I was in between 2 of the fast guys and I lost concentration before the cadence went so I had a super slow start of 3.026 seconds and a full lap of 44.119 second but managed to get a 6th.

In Moto 3 the only guy that could nock me out of making the semi’s was in the same race but had an inside gate so I knew that I had to get a good gate which I did 2.859 seconds and managed to beat the rider that I needed to and another guy to finish 6th again and get the last place in the semi’s

In the Semi I was feeling really tired and had a good gate out of gate 8 in 2.873 seconds and had a really good first straight to go into the first berm in 5th but I got pushed up so backed off and took it easy as I knew that there were a few riders that I could beat out of the gate in the semi so last pick wasn’t a problem!

In the final I had a good gate again and was 4th going into the first berm but took a weird line and got passed by a couple of people and held 6th until the last berm where I messed the line up completely and got passed by both riders behind me as I left the door wide open for them!

Over all I am pretty happy with the way both days went. I made semi finals both days and my first straights were consistently good both days. the rest of the track not so much and I severely lacked fitness on the Sunday which I need to work on.

My stomach was painful but liveable so it was better than expected and can’t be used as an excuse!  I really need to work on my cornering and manuals as the only difference between me and the faster guys was that they were manualing jumps that I wasn’t and were therefore faster over the 3rd and 4th straights!

After racing we packed my bike and a couple of bags into my friends van and then got an uber to the station and got the train for the worst train journey home ever!

Another positive of weekend that I crushed my with 14556 Steps on the Friday, 13151 Steps on the Saturday and 10560 Steps on the Sunday not including all of the steps during the day when my phone was in the gazebo.
