Last night and today has been spent getting ready for this weekends BMX National Rounds 7&8 at Peckham BMX.

Last night I got my kit bag and bike ready and took them over to my friends house as he had kindly agreed to take them to Peckham for me as I have to wait for my son to finish an exam last period before we can head up. This means that we have to get the train so I will not be there in time for the 13+ practice session but we should have plenty of time to get to the hotel, get ready and walk to Open Practice for 19:50.

I don’t want to do too much as I’m not sure how much riding my stomach will take but I really want to get the 3rd straight dialled and also the gate to the first jump as they were the places that slowed me down at the Regional. I would really like to get a lap around 40 seconds so about 3 seconds faster than my current timed fastest lap (even though I don’t think that it was my fastest lap of the day but we will not know as my transponder was playing up!) and that is still about 3 seconds off of the winning time in our A final so still a fair bit off of the pace! As I said before my gate time was the 4th fastest of the 2 finals so I am OK with that however my lap time was bad die to messing up the 1st jump and also the 3rd straight so if I clean them up I think that I will be able to get close to a 40 second lap hopefully!

I am pretty certain that I will be riding all weekend in pain so that may mean that I don’t make my target time but I will try my best.

Yesterday I had a chat with Gary from Curtis and he thinks that 21.5″ top tube is going to be too small and thinks that I should be running a 21.75″ top tube instead. I have said that I will borrow my other Curtis frame back from my Friends Son and take it over with my S&M Steel Panther so that he can take some measurements and see what he thinks. I will book a half day on Monday and then arrange to pop pop over and pick up my other Curtis before Wednesday then We will be all set to get the bike built up for the Worlds.

I am now getting all of my washing ready then I can pack our bags and get ready for my Son to get back from school so that we can run to the train station to get the train and we will be off to London. I have already bought sweets for the journey so we are all set. then once we get off the train we need to jump on the tube and get to the hotel get booked in and dump the bags then wander over to the track, find the gazebo and get ready for practice. We also need to stop off at B&M and buy a couple of chairs for us to use for the weekend.
