Odd day today

So this morning I woke up feeling a bit off and fell asleep again for 30 minutes then woke up and did my weigh in (down 0.1kgs to 102.4 kgs) I then got ready and then started work until 6 am when I drove the hire van to the petrol station and put some Diesel in to get it filled up enough to not get fined then drove home and carried on working until 7:50 when I packed up my laptop and put the bike in the back of the van and took the van back. I then rode into the office and carried on working! At about 9:50 my stomach was feeling really bad so I rode home as fast as I could then did what I needed to do and then I had a teams call to go on. I then worked until 12:00 then went to bed until 13:45 when I had to get up and get ready for another meeting.

During the day my Jet freewheel and sprocket for the GT arrived and also my delivery from Amazon including the ParkTools Cable cutters that were not supposed to be here until Wednesday arrived too so I will get the Cult 100% working this evening.

I was looking on ebay and an S&M .38 Special with a 21.5″ top tube, forks, stem, bars, brake, seat, post and grips popped up for sale so I put in a low offer and they came back with a decent offer so I accepted so I now have a 20″ as well to ride around on and do pump track on!

After Tuesday when the Profile wheels auction that I am bidding on finishes I will stop going on ebay any more as I don’t need any more bikes! But now I have to decide what I am going to do with the Cult as well as I will use the cult and the .38 special for the same thing (Pump Tracks and riding to the office) but the .38 Special is a race, trail and occasional park bike so is more versatile than the Cult so I may well build that up with freestyle tyres so that it will work better on pump tracks and the skate park more than the track for now!

I already have wheels, tyres, bottom brackets and cranks so I can get the .38 Special ride-able in about 10 minutes all I need to order is a new chain and a 44t chain ring as I lost mine the other week πŸ™ I will get them ordered later. Looking at the parts on the bike all the parts are S&M and the brake and lever are Shimano XTR caliper and lever which I think I will swap out for DXR but may leave as they are pretty high spec and its not going to be a race bike.

I am not feeling great today so I may leave it until later in the week to start on the Knee Ability Zero program but I will see how I feel later. Its almost 4 pm and I have not done my 10 minutes of backwards walking yet and I am only on just under 4000 steps so I have 6000 steps to get in this evening and the 10 minutes of backwards walking so a fair bit to go!

I am just about to get the backwards walking out of the way and then I will raise my desk and turn the backwards treadmill around and see if it works for walking forwards too as it will mean that I can walk up hill while working too which will be better than the assisted walking on the walking pad that I use under the desk at the moment!

I have also been messing with the Identity forks on the Black Market as they arrived at the weekend but I didn’t get a chance to fit them as I was busy building the Cult and riding the Standard and playing in the van so didn’t have time πŸ™‚

Now all the other bikes are basically built I will start getting the Black Market back together. I will sort the forks later today as theΒ  steerer tube is really long at the moment and needs a lot cutting off once the new stem arrives:

I actually really like the way the Black Market looks with rigid forks over suspension ones and it rides much better too as the front end is lower so it makes the geometry better in my opinion. I will get to ordering a stem later tonight then I can get the forks cut and build it up. I also need to fit the brake that arrived last week so I will do that now while I remember! I am going to leave the forks without stickers too as I like the look of them more without stickers as well! I think that the new forks make the frame seem more BMX like:

I also bought a new George Foreman grill today to make it easier to make meat and burgers without making a mess and a set of shoe dryers to make drying my shoes easier in the winter as its been 3 days already and they are still damp πŸ™

I have just found an S&M XLT stem and put it on the Black Market so it is now ready to have the forks steerer cut down and a top cap put on it! I am not feeling up to it now so it will have to wait until later in the week.

I have just bought a 20 x 1.95 and a 20 x 2.10 Power block Tyre and a Gusset Slink chrome chain to go on the S&M so I think it will now be ready to build when it arrives later in the week πŸ™‚ Eventually I will get a set of Profile Elite wheels for the S&M but for now the Haro wheels that I have will do.

So after the builds had started at 6pm I got my 10 minutes of backwards walking on level 3 and then got the normal treadmill running and got to 10000 steps on it as I wasn’t feeling great at all! I got to 10000 steps by 19:20 and then chilled in bed while the builds ran.

By the end of the day I got to 10466 steps so another 466 steps around the flat isn’t too bad πŸ™‚
