New weights bought

Last night I bought a 7ft (20kg) Olympic bar and 65kgs of weights that will be arriving sometime on Wednesday. I now have 2 days to get my room re-organised ready to be able to fit the bar in and be able to use it.

I am going to have to move my bike rack and bedside cabinet out of my room as I will need to put the squat stands and bench along the wall that the bike rack and bikes are on as the bar is almost as wide as my bedroom so I can’t use it how it is currently setup. I will need to remove the bedside cabinet so that I can push the bed closer to the wall to make more room around the weight bar. Also the bed partially blocks the door at the moment so moving it closer to the wall will allow the door to open fully as well.

I have decided to make do with my weight bench for now and I will not upgrade it for now and will instead wait to upgrade until later in the year if I need to. I think that spending £200 on a bar and weights is enough expense for now and a new bench will not add a lot of Benefit at the moment.

I now need to just get into the habit of working out regularly to rehab my shoulder and also continue to get fitter and lose weight.

My shoulder is feeling way better after just 2 sessions of weights so I expect prolonged weight training to get it fully healed I’m a few months.

Yesterday I also swapped my on call night from Friday to Tuesday so that frees up my weekends to try and improve my work life balance. Unfortunately Tuesday is also BMX training night so I will most likely have to swap training for gates at Bristol instead or train in the Wednesday group instead. I’m a ways off from being able to train anyway so it’s not an issue at the moment anyway and having weekends off is going to be way more Beneficial than training on a Tuesday night.

Due to the change in working hours I have decided that Mondays are going to be my rest day and I will do Upper Body training Tuesday and Thursday and Legs on Wednesday and Friday from now on and then ride bikes at the weekends.

This week I am going to work at my standing desk standing as much as possible to get used to it to make walking while working easier when my treadmill arrives later in the week. The treadmill is supposed to be arriving on Wednesday which is the same day as the Olympic Bar and weights so I will try and sort my room out today so that everything is ready for when the weights arrive.
