When I got home at about 13:00 the new Walking Pad had been delivered and was waiting for me in the front hall 🙂
I grabbed some food then unboxed it and then went to my room and hoovered and re-arranged my room and then brought in the new treadmill and set it up 🙂 I then did the initial maintenance of tightening the belt and then oiling the running boards and then ran the treadmill for 5 minutes after oiling it to get it lubed up.
I then got on the treadmill and set the speed to 3 mph and 12 degree incline and started walking 🙂 I found 3 mph way too slow so I upped it to 4 mph which is much more comfortable for me to walk at and then I did 30 minutes while I was walking and writing this post!
I have missed having a walking pad at home and have really missed being able to walk whenever I want without having to go outside in the cold, wet darkness that is the UK’s winter! The incline is also a massive improvement over walking on the flat too and I actually feel like I am exercising a bit now too 🙂
The first 12-4-30 was pretty easy to be honest! I felt it a bit in by legs and worked up a bit of a sweat but nothing anywhere as hard as I was expecting after watching loads of videos of YouTubers doing it and saying how hard it was!
After finishing the 12-4-30 I am on 7302 steps for the day so I will deffo need to do at least another one at 4pm when I finish work if not also some more walking later to get to 12000 steps for the day.
I have set myself the goal of doing 12-4-30 every morning at 5:00 for the next 30 days so from tomorrow 19/02/2026 until 21/03/2026. I also want to do 12000 steps as day as well during the same time period!
I will weigh myself tomorrow first thing and then go from there but my target is to try and get to 99 kgs by the end of the 30 days so that I can start playing basketball again!

I was thinking this morning on the drive into work that starting 12-4-30 and walking 12000 steps a day will mean that I do not know which exercise has caused how much weight loss so for the 30 day 12-4-30 challenge I will be just doing 12-4-30 once a day trying to do as many as I can at 5 am. This is only possible when I am at my parents as the treadmill is there so when I stay at my flat I will do the 12-4-30 when I get home. to make sure that I get the 12-4-30 done in the day at least.
