My shoulder woke me up at 4am this morning so I chilled on my phone for a bit then got ready for the gym and drove into town but when I got to the car park and grabbed my keys, I realised that I had forgotten my gym fob for a change 🙁
As I had my wok pass I decided to go into work instead and get the some things done instead so that I didn’t have a wasted journey! I need to find a better place to keep my fob so that I don’t keep forgetting it and missing gym sessions!!
I also received a call from Yess Europe to say that the payment for the chain tensioner had not gone through sp they sent me a new payment link and I have paid it successfully this time so they should be posting the chain tensioners soon.
I tried to remove the old chain tensioner from the frame yesterday but it is still not budging 🙁
I had to work a full day today as someone else in the team had a half day so I wasn’t able to take the yess frame to the powder coaters as planned. I will have my half day tomorrow so I will take the frame tomorrow.
After work I decided to pull out the big guns and grind the bolt flat so that the mole grips could actually hold the bolt and not just spin around like it had been doing:
After grinding the end of the bolt flat I was able to wiggle the adjuster wheel free with a small allen key and then the bolt came out without any real issue. Once out I could see that the bolt had been installed the wrong was as there was an allen key hole on the end that was in the frame that should have been on the outside to make it easier to undo the bolt!
Once the bold had been removed from the frame you could easily see that it was really rusted so that was why it was so hard to get out. I took off just enough to grip onto but still be usable so if I am desperate I can use this bold as a spare but I will have 2 new sets to use first.
With the chin tensioner removed from the frame it is now ready to take to the powder coaters and get stripped and re-painted ready to build up to use over the winter to do sprints on.
As you can see the frame is currently in a really rough state 🙁 but it should clean up nicely:
