Managed a coaching session last night

I managed to make it through my first coaching session in over 8 months and even managed a full speed full lap 🙂

I am a long way from being race fit but my shoulder felt good and is still OK today so I will take that as a sign to start riding again!

During the coaching we did a bunch of gates and the DMR felt pretty good apart from the suspension dropping on the gate when you get on it which is a bit off putting. Apart from that the bike felt good and I was pretty fast considering! I need to start doing sprints again as spinning felt a bit odd after so much time doing pretty much nothing! The bike felt a bit heavy as well which is most likely due to the massive wheels and thick tyres so I may get some tubolitos to see if that helps. Other than that the bike felt great!

This morning I am feeling a bit sore but nothing I can’t live with. I am just waiting for my son to wake up then we are going for a walk to get my steps in and also try and walk off the soreness a bit. I am feeling way thinner today so I will definitely start to add more BMX training into my daily routine now that I can do it pain free. I am really tempted to race at Bristol next Sunday and I am going to the track this Sunday to get a training session in and see how it goes. I am also deciding if it it is worth trying riding the BMX again and if I should try racing the BMX next weekend. I bought a half link chain this morning so that I can try and get the back wheel more slammed and I now need to get a set of my cranks and my Onyx back wheel back from being lent out so that I can build up the Yess into race form to see if it hurts my shoulder or not.
