Hurting today

Yesterday I had a mammoth day at work! I was up at 5am and at work by 5:30 and then worked through until 16:00 when I took a break to walk home with my son and drive him to his friends home in the next town and then I drove straight back to the office and carried on until just gone 20:00!

Because of this I am hurting today! Especially my legs as I was moving all day and on my feet most of the time which is a bit of a shock to the system after a week in bed 😁 On a positive note I got 11709 steps in yesterday without trying!

This morning I plan to walk to the track to get the gate setup for training at 9:30 so I will probably leave home about 8:30 so I can take my time as it’s going to hurt but hopefully it will get some of the soreness out of my legs so that I am ready for training at 3pm. I’m not sure that I am really ready for training as I haven’t ridden for over a week but I need to get back to it sometime and I have to go to pickup my fixed ebike wheel and OS20 that has had the front wheel sorted so that it now sits correctly in the forks 😁

I have also managed to borrow a cruiser rear wheel for a few weeks until I can sell some bikes to buy a new set of wheels so I will be able to build up my Standard 24” using the front wheel and cranks off of the Curtis and the bars and stem off of the Gt.

Talking about the GT the brake cable outer arrived today so I will replace the brake cable today to see if that makes the brake work properly or not and also take the stem and bars off of it to use for the Standard build. I wanted to put the top load stem and different bars on it anyway so that works out well.  I think that I also need to cut down the cool-down post a little bit as the seat is a little long and also swap the seat for a more comfortable seat as the seat on here isn’t comfortable at all! I will try swapping the seat that came with the bike onto the cool-down post and see how that feels. I may also get some S&M bruiser bars when I get paid to make the bars a little higher to reduce the reach to the bars when sat dawn. Other than that the bike feels really good and rides really well! I am always amazed how good the Halo clickster freewheels are for the price. I am seriously thinking about getting a freewheel wheel and getting a clickster freewheels for the Standard to train with over the winter!
