Hip still painful

This morning my hip was really sore so I didn’t walk and rode the mtb to the office instead as it was already in the lounge ready to use! I rode to the office, got some stuff done then rode home and started my usual shift at 7:30. The riding helped a bit to stretch out my hip a bit but I think that walking would have been better!

The OS20 tyres arrived from Les Troix Rous in France (Thanks to 15.ie for the link to the Les Troix Rous website) which is amazing since they came from France and arrived in 2 or 3 days so amazing service 🙂

The Standard Tioga Power Block OS20 x 1.85 tyre (left) matches up pretty well width wise with a 20×1.60 PowerBlock and the photo shows how much bigger the OS20 Tyre is. I am starting to get excited about the build now but I am still waiting for the Excess rims to arrive as they were second class post which is slow 🐌

I was on a half day today so after my shift finished at 12 ish I did the washing up and made some food and then I cleaned the inside of the rear hub and put the new 17t Cog and new locking ring that arrived yesterday onto the hub so once the Rims arrive I can give the wheels to my friend to build up and the build can begin! The 43t Forward Chain ring that I ordered yesterday afternoon from Crucial arrived this afternoon in the usual timely fashion that I have come to expect from Crucial so I now have all the parts to build the Chase up once the wheels are done.

Tomorrow I will get the DXR cranks into the sink and scrub off the dirt with a tooth brush and clean the bottom bracket and then the bike is ready to build when I get the wheels back 🙂

I have made a returns order for the 2 Vee OS20 x 1.60 tyres as they are way too small for me to use so tomorrow or Saturday I will box them up and send them back as I have no use for them and they cost £65 which is half a pair of forks!

The DXR Brake and lever that I bought the other day are being delivered tomorrow so once they are here I have everything for the build and the only thing left is the wheels oh and I need to get some rim tape as well which I will pickup on Sunday from one of the traders that will be at Tiverton for the last Regional of the year!

This evening I went to the track for the last Matt Eaton training of the summer which was fun and I was able to ride pretty well with the hip so it should be OK for the weekend to race on 🤞🏻

I am now off for a shower and then bed so that I can get up early and go for a decent walk before work. I am going to start a bit later tomorrow as I am not going to get a 2 hour lunch break as I am in the office training someone so I will do 7:30-16:00 instead of 6:30-16:00 with a 2 hour lunch! This means that I can walk to the track and back before getting ready for work so I can get a proper walk in and try and get the hip moving better for the weekend of training and racing!
