As we didn’t ride yesterday as I had to work I got my son up early and we went to Bristol Patchway track and rode instead. I met up with a friend as he wanted to try the timing system as he is looking to buy one so we put the timing system on the second jump on the first straight and we tried different lines on it!
This highlighted how much time and speed I am losing as I am too fast to pump properly and my manual is too poor to carry the speed! this also showed why I seem to go backwards once we hit the first jumps! I was consistently 0.2 seconds slower than my friend on just one jump so as the track has 18-20 jumps on it that would be equate to 4 seconds lost over the whole track which is about the difference between our lap times!
This has once again highlighted that I really need to practice my manuals urgently to get them sorted before the start of the season in March if I want to get more competitive for this season and especially for the worlds.
Other than that the Meybo is feeling really good but I still think I need to drop the bars a little more so I am going to swap the stem out for my Crupi I-Beam front load stem tomorrow to drop the bars a little more.
