GT bottom bracket arrived

IMG 3430So the Gusset Bottom Bracket for the GT has just been delivered 🙂 I will clean the GT off and then fit the bottom bracket ready to get the Jump bike this evening from the track container and the tyres from my friend and then I can build up the GT tonight when I get back. I am still waiting on the Halo Clickster Freewheel but I can get the bike 90% built up with just the freewheel and chain to go. That being said I have also just bought a 24×1.60 Tioga Powerblock tyre so that the GT has the same size tyre as my Curtis Race bike to make the gearing feel similar. I may leave the 24×1.60 tyre until I know if I’m going to get the Standard or not as if not I can save the tyre for next year on the Curtis instead of putting it on the GT.

As I am going to be working on jumping over the winter I have decided to keep the Sunday Wave C and use that when I am practicing jumping as it is made for jumping so should be a good middle ground between a jump bike and a race BMX and with the bigger tyres on it I am hoping the landings and cases will hurt less than they do on a race BMX.

As my OS20 is being fixed at the moment, I may ride the Sunday to train on while and really work on jumping and manuals for a couple of weeks then when my OS20 is back I can crack on jumping on that and try and progress with my jumping.

As I have said before I am going to use the GT on the Rollers so I will not need a front wheel on it as the rollers have a front wheel stand on them as I keep falling off of them if I ride them normally!

So I have just got an out of stock message for the Tioga Powerblock 24×1.60 tyre and been given a refund 🙁 Apparently there is no stock until January so I will have to make do with the 1.75 for now.

I have just cleaned the bike and dried it with gt85 so it is now shinny and nice ready to fit the new Bottom Bracket and the wheels are ready to install the freewheel when it arrives. The old freewheel was a cheapie one and the only way to get it off was to take it apart and get some wide mouth pliers on the inside of it and force it off that way. I binned the old freewheel as there was no point keeping it!

This evening I went to the track with the dog and back so I now have 11646 steps for the day so basically done the 12000 steps for the day and I also picked up the tyres so I will stick them on the GT tomorrow then I’m just waiting on the Halo freewheel and I still need to get the cranks as I couldn’t get to the bike in the container as the dog would’t stay out of the way!

I will walk up there at lunch time with the dog again and try and get to the bike and bring it back home to take the cranks off.
