BC have finally announced the plans for the 2021 national BMX series and it is basically that the first 4 rounds are postponed and that racing will start back in June 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

This means that I have 2 months to get into some kind of race shape. To be honest I am in much better shape that I have been for the past few years and apart from my knee hurting which to be honest it has done for the past 37 years since I hurt it so it can’t really be classed as an injury any more it’s more of a annoyance at this point.

My first couple of sessions back on the track with the Curtis went pretty well fitness wise and I wasn’t blowing too hard while riding or when I stopped which was a good sign as before I was severely winded after doing first straights! This means all the road biking and walking are starting to pay off!

I now need to try and fit in more BMX specific training on top of my walking and road cycling.

It was really apparent that any skill I had before has well and truly left me while I have not been riding so I want to spend the next month at least trying to get a consistent manual as I am struggling to manual the first jump on the Bath track which I used to do in my sleep!!!

I also need to start doing sprints again ASAP to get back to racing shape.

I plan carry on trying to do my walking Mon-Friday and to cut back on the road bike to once or twice a week and then add 2-3 FOCUSSED track sessions a week and 2 sprint sessions as well.

I am going to get the manual machine out of the shed and get it set up in the house and want to do 30 minutes a day to get the flexibility and technique back ready to start practicing manuals outside starting next month! This will give me 2 weeks on the manual machine and then I can spend all of April working on my manuals outside to hone them.

I now have a go-pro so I will video my sessions and maybe make a you tube series out of them.

I also want to start to video all of my sessions so that I can be more focussed in my training.
