This evening I walked up to the track and back as I had to drop some bits off to people.
The walk up there was hard going as its all uphill so I was in fat burning for 97% of the walk which is pretty good:
I got to the track with shin splints on my left leg which kicked in when I hit the steep hill before the track and stayed for the rest of the walk! I was puffing quite a bit by the top which explains the orange bit at the end of the walk 🙂
The walk home was much easier as it was all down hill but that meant that I walked too quickly and went out of fat burning a lot:
As you can see I was in Cardio not fat burning for 51% of the time which is not ideal and my av heart rate was 126bpm which is way too high.
When I got home I went and had a lie down as my stomach was painful and when I got up to get ready for bed my whole body hurt so I had definitely gone too hard on the way home! I will have to start walking with my heart rate monitor on to try and stay in zone 2 all the time to try and get max fat burning on my walks from now on.
The walk to the track and back was 9831 steps as I was on 1068 steps I think when I started the walk and I finished on 10899 steps all together which translated to 7.87km or 4.89 miles:
