I woke up this morning feeling sore but refreshed at 6 am with no alarm! I got up and did my weigh-in and I am back up to 109.1 kgs which tells me that I need to cut out my Friday Fry up sandwich next year to really see a drop in weight as I have put back 1/2 of the 1 kg that I lost during the week yesterday which is not ideal! Yesterday was the first day this week that I didn’t intermittent fast as well so I need to focus on that more too as that really helps with the weight loss!
I have noticed this week that my body fat on my legs and arms has reduced a fair bit and my arms are starting to look more toned from all the server moving I guess. And consistently getting my steps in and doing 3 backwards walks this week and riding into the office and back 5 days this week has made my legs feel pretty heavy today so I am planning to chill until 8 ish and then go to the track and play on the StayStrong before coming home and waiting for gates at 1:30 today.
This weekend I plan to get at least 10000 steps in each day to try and stop being bed bound most of the weekend watching TV and doom scrolling!
I have decided that I am only going to do gates today and I will instead go for a walk with my son when he goes to work so I get my steps in first thing today instead of having to get them in after gates! I have also just bought a leg raising pillow so that I can start lying with my legs raised when I am watching TV in the evenings and weekends to help with my leg fatigue and blood pooling.
I have my legs raised at the moment on my duvet and some pillows and they are feeling much better already 🙂
Last night I checked over my rollers and I found that there were 2 allen key bolts missing from the front roller so for this week I will have to use the stabilizer bar as the front roller is not functional. I have bought a maintenance kit that will be here by Wednesday next week hopefully so I can then start to try and learn rollers over the xmas break.
This week has been pretty challenging as I have been getting used to getting up, doing some work then getting ready and then riding to the office and working in the office all morning and the riding home again then getting the rest of my steps in after work every day. As I am in the middle of an office move I am way more physically active than I will be normally so until the move mid January this will be my daily routine. Once the move happens I will then add going going to the gym before work but I think that I will continue to work in the office in the mornings as it makes it way easier to intermittent fast.
I am on holiday from next Friday afternoon so I will try and get into the habit of waking up and going to the gym every morning during the week to get into the habit for when I get back to work in the new year I will be able to carry it on. Next year I am going to go back to working 7:30 to 16:00 every day with an hour for lunch as I am doing way too many hours at the moment and usually don’t get time to go to the track at lunch times anyway! I will also try and start consistently going to gates somewhere on a Wednesday evenings and take a longer lunch in Fridays so I ride Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday Evening and Friday lunch only. I will then ride more at the weekends and train properly then.
Next year I want to get a better work life balance as this year I have been working way more than I should and I don’t get any benefit from it so there is really no point! I also want to try and be more active in the evenings and stop watching TV most of the evening! Over the winter I will learn to ride rollers so that I can work towards sprinting on them then I can start doing interval training sessions in the evenings to get fitter once I am comfortable on the rollers. I also want to start using the rollers to warm up on before riding so that I can have a consistent warmup/cool down when I start racing again.
I have just bought a 4 monitor video card to go into my PC that is currently in the office and I will set that up so that I can run 4 monitors at home again with the PC as my main work PC at home. I can then leave the work laptop in the office setup on the desk all the time so that I just login and start working in the mornings.
