Feeling Better Today – Got back to walking

This morning I woke up at 4:30 am feeling great so I got up, had a shower and got ready to go walking. I left at my usual time of 5:30 and walked out of town along the river and then back home along the Bath to Bristol cycle path and then cut back over to the Lower Bristol road and then walked into town until I reached Twerton where I cut through to the top end of Bricksfield Park and then cut down onto the two tunnels and then walked home along the 2 tunnels. By the time I got home I had done a bit over 8000 steps which really helped my back which has been really sore over the past few weeks as  I have not been walking much.

I then started work just after 7am until about 8pm when I had to take a mouse to my son that he had forgotten so I walked to his house and back which upped my daily total to respectable 16617 steps for the day.

My knee was a bit sore by the end of the walk but I think that will go away once my back eases up again over the next week while I continue to get back into the habit of walking again by starting to do the 10000 step challenge again with today being my first day!

I also found out this week that I should be starting my new role by the end of the month so I will be working mon-fri during the day so it will be way easier to eat properly and also fit in exercise as well, although I have to learn Python so I will most likely do a couple hours of Python in the mornings and then walk in my lunch break and then ride BMX in the evening until it starts getting dark in the evenings again then I will most likely ride the BMX in my lunch break. We are slowly going to start moving back to the office soon so I will be able to stop walking altogether soon as my walk to work and back every day is pretty much 10000 steps so I can use that instead. It also means that I will have time to plan my meals ahead of time and more time per day to cook food as well so hopefully I will be able to start eating better too.

As I have been feeling Ill over the past few weeks I haven’t been riding my bike at all which is a bit worrying as I have rounds 3 and 4 of the HSBC national series in Gosport coming up this weekend. Luckily I have the next week off so I can start getting into riding the bike again this week. Unfortunately I haven’t been practicing my manuals at all which I really need to do but I plan to go to some pump tracks this week to practice my track skills and also I plan to get at least one day at the track in Gosport to practice so I will at least be used to the rack a bit before Friday’s practice!
