So I woke up at 4:45 before my alarm went off so I can safely say that I am starting to feel a lot better and maybe the BMX and DIY yesterday helped to get rid of the lurgey a bit!
I led around until my alarm went off at 5 am and then got up and did my weigh-in (Up to 103.4 kgs today due to the amount of crap I ate and drank yesterday!) I am going to start back on the carnivore diet today and stick to it until the end of the month to try and get below 100 kgs as planned!
I decided to not go for a walk this morning and to start working instead as I was 2 days behind from being off sick last week and I wanted to get caught up asap. I also had a dodgy stomach so I didn’t want to get too far from home! I will get the steps in on the treadmill during the day today and also do my backwards walking and hopefully start doing the Knee Ability Zero today too if I still feel OK after work today!
I looks like most of the things that I ordered last week are arriving today so its probably going to be a good idea to stay home today so I don’t miss any of the deliveries. I have a feeling that I will get the park bike frame today so I will get it built up at some point today once all the parts have arrived. I also urgently need to hoover and mop everywhere as the flat is a tip at the moment and its getting on my nerves! I also urgently need to organise my tools as I can’t find half of my decent tolls at the moment which is really annoying too 🙁
I think I am going to have to go through my cupboards which I have been putting off as they are full of crap but I think that the time has come to get it sorted as they are almost impossible to Tetris any more stuff into and I can’t find anything at the moment 🙁 I also have half of my tools easily accessible in a decent tool box and the other half are dumped I don’t know where effectively lost for now until I sack up and start organising things and getting rid of all the crap I don’t use!
This week I will try and get the hall cupboard emptied and cleared out and maybe get a load of stuff ready for the tip then get that booked in for the weekend. I have decided that I will try and find a place to keep my son’s old draws then I can use them for tool storage and get the big tool boxes out into the garage opt of the way! Although thinking about it using the chest of draws instead of some of my parts bins may make more sense as they take up loads of room and I can split the draws in half and get 2 boxes in one draw I think so I may do that then I can store my tool box on top of the parts draws!
I have also decided along with going full carnivore again I will restart intermittent fasting so I will start eating at 11 am and close the window again at 7 pm in the evening from today. I also have to cut out all fizzy drinks again as I am slowly getting back into drinking them every day again so that has to stop before I get back into old habits again! So from today its back on the fizzy water only! I have decided that I will do have 1 apple a day to try and stave off the piles going forwards if possible. I have just bought this weeks food with 20% fat mince, and eggs to make burgers and boiled eggs and chicken thighs because I like them and some steak too.
The new to me but basically brand new Profile mini wheels for the Cult have just arrived as has the Subrosa Rail so I will build that up later today and maybe have a quick play on it if the new frame and pegs arrive as they are scheduled to.
As the bike will be brakeless it takes most of the faff out of setting it up os it should be pretty quick to build 🙂
The new wheels are as stated basically brand new so other than swapping the 17t cog for the 18t when it arrives there is nothing to do to them to get them on the bike 🙂
I may put them on later to see how they look.
I couldn’t wait so I put the wheels on. They are just missing the lucky 8 ball valve caps as I had to jump onto something else quickly so I will get them fixed at lunch time but they look pretty good to be fair 🙂
I have just remembered that I have the Cult race forks arriving later in the week so I have decided not to do any more with the cult until everything arrives so when the forks and cog arrive I will then 100% finish the build and then move on to the next build 🙂
So this week I have the following to do:
Build up Federal when it arrives
Change Gearing on the Curtis when 18t cog arrives and fit new chain
Change Gearing on the Standard 125R and service rear hub
Finish building Cult when parts arrive
Finish building S&M when the chain arrives
Cut of forks on the Black Market
Once all this is done all my bikes will be fully functional and I can just ride whichever one I feel like on that day!
Like I said before I will mostly be riding the Curtis for racing and gates, The Standard for training and sprints, the Cult and the S&M for pump tracks and riding to work the cult also to do over gear sprints on too, the Federal to learn tricks on and I am thinking of either using the Cult for roller sessions or maybe get another frame to build up a roller bike but as the Cult is not going to be used too much and it will have the long seat post on then that makes the most sense for a rollers bike and I sell the Halo wheels to recup money!
I also really need to get the DK and GT build up and on the internet to sell to free up space and get some money back. I am also thinking of selling the Jump bike as well as I never use it and its a lot of money tied up in a bike that just sits there! I also have the Black Market if I really need a jump bike so I’m all good there! I really want to try the Black Market with the new forks and longer stem so I will try and prioritise getting that working so I can play on it later in the week as I want to get jumping sooner rather than later and I think that riding the Black Market will help.
So at about 13:30 the pegs, Profile mini hub (also basically brand new) and the new driver and sprag and paw kit arrived so I put the sprag and paws in the driver and fitted it then got the 12t driver and then realized that the driver didn’t come with the lock ring that it showed in the photos 🙁 So I have ordered one ready to get the hub all sorted:
I have to wait a couple of weeks for the rims to arrive anyway so its all good! I also noticed that there is an issue with the threads on one side of the hub so I have ordered a new axle so I don’t have any issues when I come to build up the wheels.
This also basically means that the hub is now 80% new so it should be good for ages 🙂
So the Federal arrived at 16:30 along with the Sunday Front load stem that I bought for £8. I started building up the Federal but when I took the forks off of the old bike the headset literally fell apart and had all rusted out. I was also unable to get the hub guards to work with the hubs so i guess that my hubs are pre hub guards so don’t work! So I decided that I needed new wheels so I looked online and Source BMX had gold Cinema ZX 333 rear wheel was £105 instead of £150 and the front was £50 instead of £100 so gold wheels it is 🙂 I also bought a new staystrong headset for £15 instead of £30 so saved a fir bit. I also bought a KMC HL1 wide chain for the new bike too as I am not sure what chain is on the oild bike or how old it is so for £20 its worth a new chain!
So basically I got as far as putting the bottom bracket, cranks and seat on the bike and then gave up for the day! Hopefully the bits will be here in a few days and I can get the Federal built up by the weekend to play on!
I am just taking the pegs off of the wheels and then I will stick the left over bits from the old bike in the shed for now and then leave the Federal in the bike stand until the new parts arrive. The new wheels come with hub guards so I will keep the other ones as spares as they are the same as the ones that come with the wheels.
So I have mocked up the front end of the bike and it looks pretty sick to be fair 🙂
I had a look online and found this example of a blue BMX with gold wheels and it looks pretty good so I am hoping that the wheels will look OK on my bike:
While i was looking at the Federal I decided to try the front load stem and I prefer the look and bar height so I will go with the front loader stem on the bike. I use a front loader on all my other bikes so it just makes sense to use one on the park bike too!
