I have been evaluating how I can improve my riding to get to the next level next season ready to race Nationals in 2019 and I have come to the realisation that i can not put off learning to manual on the flat any longer. So I have decided that as December is cold and wet and crappy I am going to do a manual challenge for the rest of the year to get my manuals dialled in ready to ride the 3rd and 4th straights at Bath properly next year.
I started the challenge today after trying to manual the jumps on the 3rd straight and nose casing all of them and getting really frustrated. I did better than expected as well as I was able to consistently manual 1 parking space width ways and did a few 1 1/2 – 1 3/4 parking spaces at low speed so it was a pretty good progression for 30 minutes work. As well as daily maunal sessions I want to ride more pump tracks as they are the best way to hone track skills and also get smoother.
December Goals:
Do at least 30 minutes manual training a day until the end of the year.
Be able to manual 10 car park spaces at low speed by the end of the year.
Ride Pump tracks at least 4 times a week on the weeks that I work lates.
