Day 9 – 16/11/2023

This morning I woke up late as I was on call last night so didn’t get to sleep until late. I set my alarm for 7:00 but woke up at 6:40 without the alarm.

I got up and did an impromptu weigh in and I am up to 108.5kgs from 107.1kgs at the start of this training cycle. I am not too worried as I think I am gaining muscle weight not fat as I am getting more defined and also I can physically see that my body and face are trimming down so I think the training is working as it should.

I didn’t walk this morning as I am off this afternoon so I will go for a walk after I have been for my bike ride. I am planning do do the hill to the track and back and then instead of heading home on the 2 tunnels on the way back I will do a left and then take the 2 tunnels to the end of the track and then head home to get a bit more milage in and take advantage of my afternoon off.

I will then shower and rest for a bit and then head out for a walk in the evening to make sure that I get in at least 10000 steps for the day.

My front mudguard will be arriving between 10am and 1pm today so I will wait for that to arrive, fit it and then go for my ride as its raining again today so I will need the mudguard I think.

I also need to oil the chain on the mtb before my ride as it was a tad squeaky on my ride yesterday and was sticking in places.

The stuff has been delivered and fitted to the bike so I am now ready for a ride in a bit.

I got the bike all sorted and then as soon as I left the house it started to rain so I decided to do the 2 tunnels to the equestrian centre and back instead of riding to the track and back and then the 2 tunnels. I’m glad I did as I bonked really hard halfway back through the longer tunnel so it was a struggle getting home as was feeling week and had blurry vision all the way back! When I got home I also got cramp in my right calf as well 🙁 I ate a banana and drank a Pepsi Max Cherry that i had in the fridge and would not really ever drink as its minging but I necked it anyway and it sorted me right out. I then made some pasta so sort myself out fully!

The ride wasn’t really very long or hard but I guess I haven’t been eating too well recently and I definitely should have eaten something before riding to fuel up so next time I will eat before I go ride to make sure that this doesn’t happen again!

When I got home from my ride there was a card from the postman to say that there was a parcel behind my neighbours bin and when I opened it it was my new Burgtec MK4 pedals:
