This morning I woke up at 5am even though I set my alarm for 7am last night so I got up, got dressed walked to the office and did some things then in the office and then walked home so that I could start my daily tasks at 7:30 am.
By the time that I got home I was on 9463 steps so super close to my 10000 step goal for the day. Unfortunately I forgot to start Strava so no more stats than the steps today 🙁
As it was pay day I bought the front mud guard for my mtb and swapped the Burgtec mk4 pedals off of my e-bike onto the mtb too as I really didn’t like the pedals that were on there (DMR Versa pedals) and put the DMR V12’s off of my jump bike onto the ebike for now.
I also bought 2 more pairs of Burgtec’s off of Airdrop as they were 20% off so I can put them on my Jump Bike and the Canyon Torque DHX that I swapped for my Airdrop fade yesterday. Then all 3 bikes will feel the same hopefully.
I am feeling pretty good after riding to the track and back yesterday so I am just waiting for my washing to dry (with my riding kit in it as it was really wet from yesterdays torrential rain ride!) so that I can go out and ride to the track again! I need to get my helmet from the container too as I want to sticker it before the weekend if possible so I will grab it while I am up there at lunch time.
The ride was much more pleasant than yesterday as it was dry, sunny and very little wind. The only issue was that there were a lot more dog walkers and walkers in general today so it was slower going on the cycle path today 🙁
I found out when I got back that my and saved my ride that Strava is being weird and has not saved my ride when it said it did so not sure what is going on there. Unfortunately I can not see if the perceived difficulty today was because I was tired or was due to pushing harder? We will never know now 🙁
After my ride I stored my MTB and brought my GT into the house so that I can swap the seat over with the downhill bike and also put the Halo Clickster freewheel back on as I have got it back from my friend as he needed a 16T freewheel for his daughter to borrow the Standard so swapped my 18t over and gave it back. The GT currently has my warmup/ cooldown seat and post on it so the seat from the downhill bike will work better as a cooldown seat as well as a riding to work seat so it makes sense to swap it as the current seat will be better on the downhill bike!
The Burgtec mk4’s feel much better on the bike and I didn’t find myself thinking about the pedals at all on the ride today so I’m glad that I got them swapped out and also that I bought a couple more pairs for the jump bike and downhill bike.
I have done the seat swap and I am pleased with how the seats look better on the other bikes so they will stay like that now 🙂
I will sort out the freewheel and back wheel on the GT a bit later on then it will be fully usable to ride to work as it is the perfect ride to work bike other than it has no mudguards but I can live with that as I have waterproofs and also waterproof socks now 🙂
I have just got the GT back together and its all working fine except for the brake is not returning the lever back out so it looks like the springs have issues! I will have to get a new brake caliper when I have some spare cash but it will be fine for now!
I’m booked in for Sunday at Windhill so I will get a chance to test the Canyon Torque DHX out for the first time 🙂 If it goes well I will book in for Monday afternoon too 🙂 I also need to fit my roof rack and bike carriers onto my car tomorrow afternoon as I don’t think that the DH bike will fit in the boot of the car!
