So this morning I woke up feeling really weak, with sore eyes, aching body, feeling hot and cold and a headache as well so I did my early morning task and then went back to bed and took a sick day!
I then slept until about 14:00 then basically lay in bed for the rest of the day drifting in and out of consciousness!
When I awake I watched a bunch of videos on how David Goggins lost all his weight to make the buds maximum weight in 30 days and I have decided to try and go all out for the next 30 days to see how much weight I can lose before xmas! If I do 30 days from tomorrow then I will finish on the 24th of December so just before xmas! In most of the videos the people lost around 15kgs over the 30 days so that would take me to around 93kgs before xmas which would get me well under the 100kgs that I have failed to do this year and a lot closer to my goal of getting to 80kgs by March 2024.
I intend to do the following every day for the next 30 days and see what happens:
5-6:30 am – Walk going a more hilly route than I have been doing.
12-2 pm – Cycle
4-6pm – Walk and Weights (Weights only Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays alternating upper and lower body)
At weekends I plan to walk early and then do a bike ride straight after then I can rest the rest of the day to try and not be too sore on Monday morning again.
I am going to do the same regiment at the weekend as well so that I really get into the habit of getting up at 5am and walking and working out every day as well to see how I get on with it. I am also going to log my weight daily in the morning to keep a track of my weight loss a the aim is to lose 1lb a day or 7lbs or roughly 3kgs a week.
I then plan to only walk on xmas day and then get back to training on Boxing day for another 30 days to try and reach my 80kg goal by the 26th January so that I can then start doing BMX Specific training like Sprints and track work for a couple of months before the start of the season.
I am feeling a bit better this evening so I will do my best to get out of bed and walk first thing in the morning to kick start my 30 day challenge as this week I have been a bit up and down with my training!
I am also going to go cold turkey with the fizzie drinks from Saturday morning so that I can get my empty calorie intake down a lot as my fizzie drink consumption has been shooting up again over the past couple of weeks which is not good and I can tell that I am putting on weight again from it! I have a bottle and a half of 1.75l cokes to finish off tomorrow then Saturday I will stop and replace it with fizzie water from the soda stream again!
I also plan to start doing intermittent fasting as well as I have got out of the habit of doing that too so I will start that on Saturday as well when I start drinking more water again as that makes it easier to do the Intermittent fasting. I also plan to eat more omlettes as they really fill you up and it makes not eating as much way easier.
I think that doing a 30 day challenge will make it easier for me to get motivated to workout more consistently as I have been struggling with consistency again as I have not been really training for much at the moment so the 30 day challenge will help with that and give me extra motivation to get out of bed in the mornings and go walking. Usually once I get out of bed and walk I am more motived for the day as well so I am more likely to go for a bike ride at lunch time and hopefully more likely to workout after work as well!
I think that focussing now on weight loss will be really build a base fitness level ready to start BMX specific training in the new year and being lighter and stronger should mean that I get less injuries than I currently do as the training will put less strain on my body than it would at my current 108+kg body! I am also hoping that reducing my weight and increasing my strength and fitness will mean that I will get faster as well 🙂
Once the new gate and timing system is installed at the track in late January I will be able to use gate sessions to see how much the weight loss has affected my speed as well as monitoring the differences when I start replacing fitness training like long bike rides for sprints and track work as well so hopefully when the season rolls around in March/April I will be in race shape and ready to go.
