So today I had the day off as it was my son’s birthday. I intended to get up at 5am and walk and then get back change and go to the track and swap over my jump bike for the OS20 so that I can work on jumping but I woke up at 4:30 am without an alarm then stayed on my phone for a couple of hours and then went back to sleep at 9am.
When I woke up I found out that the delivery that was supposed to come yesterday and didn’t was supposed to arrive this morning so I decided to clean out my ponds instead!
At 12:00 I had to leave to go to the optician’s and meet my Son so we could do lunch. We then walked back to my house and I then walked to meet my friend as he needed an 18t shimano sprocket. When we tried to get the locking ring off it basically did anything but come lose! It was basicaly made of plastic as it bent instead of undid so we had to drive to mine and get some tools to force it off! In the end we forced a screw driver in between it and the hub and twisted until it snapped off which took very little effort to do! Luckily I had a spare locking ring so he was able to build the bike up so he could go to gates at Bristol Jets this evening.
At about 16:30 myself and my son walked to his mums house for a birthday meal and I have just walked home.
All in all a good day and I have managed to total 21456 Steps for the day so far 🙂
Not bad for a day doing not much at all 🙂 15.5kms (9.6 miles) walked without actually going for a real walk is not bad going 🙂
I’m a bit gutted that I didn’t quite make it to 10 miles walked but the steps total makes up for yesterday where I only made 3100 all day as I was waiting in for deliveries which didn’t all arrive!
I am experiencing a fair amount of pain in my left knee so I am going to give the Knee Ability Zero program another go as it is supposed to really help with knee strength and mobility which is exactly what I need. I bought the book ages ago but I didn’t ever manage to start the program!
I have been watching various videos on the program and a lot have people have had really good results from doing it so its definitely worth a shot.
The program is 3 times a week so I am going to do it Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s after work. I will try and do the 10 minutes backwards walking in the mornings when I am walking then the program should be about 20 minutes and not too difficult to complete. I am planning on continuing walking in the mornings and riding the bike in my lunch break to get better at climbing the hill to the track. I have also decided that I will start training at the track in my lunch hour as well so that I can start working on my track skills as well as increasing my fitness and hopefully kick start more weight loss as well!
I plan to start training at the track again from tomorrow lunch time then this week I will have 2 sessions then next week I will do a full week of training! I have decided that I need to make use of my Monday and Thursday afternoon’s off to get more training in as I am wasting them at the moment watching TV and generally not getting fitter!
My weekends are pretty chill at the moment so I can keep them pretty clear to recover for now then after xmas I can start doing track stuff once I’m used to my training load. I am also holding off on getting back to basketball until I am a lot fitter as I don’t want to get injured and set myself back again as my ankle has set me back enough already 🙁
At the moment there at 5 weeks left until the end of the year so I may as well wait until next season now to make my comeback and focus on BMX this year! Especially as I am doing Nationals again this coming season so I want to get as fast as I can to not spend all that money to go and get motoed all the time!
The track will be closed for a couple of weeks from the 21st of January I think so I will start doing sprints 2x a week (Mon and Thursday) and going on longer road rides instead of going to the track during that time.
