Curtis Racelite 24″ is back

This week I decided to try and get the profile 10mm to 20mm adapters working on the Curtis frame so that I could get it built back up again as I miss riding it and I wasn’t really getting on with the ftb frame too well.

I bought the Curtis 2 and a half years ago roughly and only rode it for a short time as I had loads of issues with the bearings in the Stealth hubs that I bought seizing all the time so I wasn’t enjoying riding the bike because of this. So I sold the wheels and the frame has been hanging on my wall ever since.

While I was in the US last year I bought a set of 10mm to 20mm adapters to convert my 10mm profile elite wheel to 20mm to work with the Curtis and I then put them somewhere safe and couldn’t find them after I moved into my flat. I found them a couple of weeks ago and decided last weekend to make them work!

I googled Profile 10mm to 20mm converters and came across the video below that showed me how to fit the adapters:

5 minutes after watching the video I had the wheel setup and an hour later the bike was fully set up with all of the parts from the FTB.

I should have really documented the build but I was too excited.

The bike is now built and track tested and I am kicking myself for not building it up earlier!!

When not in use the bike is hung on my lounge wall like the work of art it is!
