Concussed again!!

I woke up at 5am on Tuesday Morning and walked to the gym to get a workout in as it was Tuesday and I was planning to start Legs weights this morning. I was a little sore from the crash and my head was a bit foggy so I guess that I hit my head harder than I originally thought!

While I was walking to the gym I was feeling OK but my head was getting worse and I was starting to get a bit dizzy too! by the time I got to the gym I was feeling a bit rough but I was going to push through it! Luckily for me my fob did not open the door so I gave up on the idea of working out and popped into the office to reboot a server that I had planned to do after the gym anyway and then walked home.

By the time I got home I was really dizzy and felt a bit sick so. I called in to work and told them I was going back to bed and I did! I basically stayed in bed for most of the day and took it easy and slept when I felt tired and watched Netfilx when I could. By about lunch time I was 100% sure that I had a concussion and let work know that I was definitely concussed and that I could do what I could but I was struggling.

Wednesday I woke up feeling a bit better s oI tried to work and I managed to work from 7:30 – 9:30 but I feeling worse all the time from moving my head to look at different monitors and from the scrolling of the screen so I went back to bed and did the same as I did the day before.

Thursday I woke up at 5 again and worked a little more and felt better than before. I made it to about 13:30 before calling it a day. As the screens were making my symptoms worse I decided to go into the office early and install some new servers in racks which was a lot better for my head than looking at the screen all the time. I headed home about 13:30 and by the time I got home my head was really foggy again and I was not able to focus properly again.

On Friday I woke up at 5am again and was feeling a lot better. I had a project to do so. I started getting on with it and worked until about 15:30 and then took a quick 30 minute break and then I was on call until 22:00. By about 16:30 I was done and my head hurt, I was dizzy and unable to focus properly any more but I powered through and then went to bed exhausted.

I am going to take Saturday off and then on Sunday I have a team day at Cyclopark so I try and ride for that. I am hoping to start at the gym on Monday and I have decided to change up my training again and do the gym 5 days a week and BMX in the evenings and Weekends as much as I can. I have arranged to work in the office in the mornings to give me an extra 30 minutes in the gym instead of having to walk home after the gym before work! This will give me about 1:30-2 hours in the gym which is plenty! I have decided that I will focus on going to the gym every day to build consistency and chill at the weekends and make riding fun again. I am going do the following workouts:

Monday: AM – Gym (Lower Body) PM – Pump Track/ Track

Tuesday: AM – Gym (Upper Body) PM – Sprints

Wednesday: AM – Gym (Aerobic) PM – Racing/ Gates

Thursday: AM – Gym (Upper Body) PM – Sprints

Friday: AM – Gym (Lower Body). PM – Manuals

Saturday: AM – Rest PM – Coaching/Gates

Sunday: AM – Pump Track PM- Rest
